Mel,or the old man, don't necessarily spawn on your home planet. They can spawn anywhere. Usually (key word), Mel will spawn on the planet where you received you second visit by the old man. Very rarely will Mel spawn on a different planet.

Yes, the same rules apply as the first visit.
No, there is no variability in the toughness of the Mel mission. It is what it is, being on different planets doesn't alter it in any way.
some people tell you to go to certain planets to get the 2nd old man visit (and hopefully the mel wp) because there are fewer houses for the crystals to spawn in. i think these planets include endor and maybe lok. feel free to correct me or add anymore supposedly less populated planets

I was wondering if the same rules apply. 24 hours, away from cities, in middle of nowhere and NOT engaged in combat correct? and also does it matter what planet i'm on as far as the toughness of the Melachea mission? for example, if i waited for old man on say Tatooine rather than Dant, would it be easier? I know it's like 1000m from where ever old man meets you, correct?

I had both the old man, and the sith show up outside my house, which is where i decided to roost. i plan to go the same route the second time.

I live on Naboo. Received 1st old manvisit on Naboo, attacked bySithon Dant, 2nd visit from old man on Corellia, and Mel spawned on Naboo. Seems that Mel spawns on your home planet (wherever you have your home declared). All visits took ~24hrs from the previous triggerevent.
