Thread: can you get 6 branches and not take the trials and be jedi?

Been looking at getting a few branches, saw 2 more that I would like but heard once you unlock 6 you have to go jedi...

as far as i know you could take 6 branches and not go jedi. once the second old man came, if you just didnt kill mel then you would not progress to the padawan trials and could continue your existing toon. however, you wouldnt get your free 2nd toon cuz you only get that upon completion of your paddy trials

yes, you can grind more branches if you want. however, you will still have to grind all the xp. you dont have to do the padawan trials and you dont have to become jedi

Could you just kill mel and not start the trials? If you don't kill mel wouldn't the old man bug you or keep putting a WP in your datapad?

You don't have to do the trials, you don't have to kill mel, but the logical thing to do (okay that's very vulcan!) would be to complete the trials and unlock the second slot, and then just not train any jedi related skills (novice LS etc) and keep your toon as is.
What completing 6 branches does is give you the option of becoming a jedi, it is up to you wether you choose it.
The only thing you won't be able to do is untrain those 6 branches, so you will always have 24 skill points taken up. (you can train a 7th and loose 1 to get back to 6 if you wanted to change the ones you have, but it does require the 1.225m xp to do it)

kill mel and don't start the trials. if you finish the trials then you get the death xp loss and that would be very tough to overcome early.
