Thread: Questions about combat template!

I am thinking of dropping to merchant 0004 and dropping my dancer and some ent skills to(ent 0004)to pick up some combat.
However, before respecing anything I need some opinions and thoughts.
Will I have enough sp to even make an effective combat template?
What combat skills should I pick up... carbine, pistols, swords?
I can fill only one branch in say marksman (carbine/pistols) orbrawler (swords) tree then go to the novice box in either.
If I do this... I can only fill a couple of branches in an elite combat profession.
Is it even worth my time to do this if I cannot fully master a combat profession?
Will I be able to hunt on Kashyyyk at all, even in a group?
Would a group even take me with them ifI am not master?
My reasons for doing this ... I wanna experience other aspects of the game that I have been unable to do since the game launched and fill the vehicular control branch in the FSXP. Is this going to be possible with so little combat? I am filling the fsxp boxes to help my current character and to unlock a second character slot.. not to become jedi.

You could do that, but with just novice box elites you're going to be pretty group dependant to do anything worthwhile. As long as you have the guild/friends to accomodate you then I'd say go for it and stick with ranged. At your CL you won't want to be getting too close to much when you are group hunting and you shouldn't be hitting anything hard enough to draw aggro with that template so it'll basically be a free ride. Grouping will be mandatory tho.
Be sure you have the SP tho. You said you had enough to fill one branch on marksman or brawler and then the novice of an elite, but check carefully as most elites require 2 novice branches.
