Thread: Is this grinding strategy possible?

Ok, I finally made it to the village (old man visited me in 36 hours, and sith paid an unwelcome visit 20 hours later). Paemae tells me I have 2 free unlocks. I do not want to lose my combat level 80, as the mobs in the village would tear me up.

Is it possible to open up both branches, but store the fs xp given by Paemae without spending it? Also, could I open all 6 branches, but keep converting my regular xp to fs xp without spending it? I would like to wait until I have all the xp needed for all 6 branches, so I don't kill my combat level. And when I get the last amount of xp needed for all 6 branches, then I spend the fs xp (but not before). Is this feasible?

Bottom line: Is there a cap on the amount of fs xp you can store at one time? Thanks.

Far as I can tell there's no cap on how much FS XP you can have. So far I've banked more then 4mil of Reflex XP and I'm not capped. Not sure about this, but I think when you claim a free unlock you actually get trained in the whole skill for free. So if you claimed both your free unlocks it'd eat up 8 skill points, I think.

As far as anyone knows, there is no cap. Some folks have posted here about having over 8 million combat FS xp banked.

When you claim a free unlock, it unlocks the tree and gives you 1,125,000 of the appropriate xp so you can train it yourself. Most people do bank all their xp and not train the FS branches until they have it all set to go.

Was this changed in the CU? So what your saying is that I don't have to grind any more xp? All I have to do is complete the quests, talk to Noldanand I'm finished? I've been grinding for nothing?? It would make my day if this was true, but maybe Iam misunderstanding what you are saying...

For instance, I have completed the phase 4 combat quest given by Sarguillo a couple of weeks ago. All I have to do is go to Noldan and he will unlock the branch and GIVE me 1.125 million xp right then and there? Somehow I find this hard to believe! But again, I hope it's true...

Only if you were a hologrinder do you get free unlocks. The rules for unlocking jedi used to be different. Sony changed the way to unlock while thousands of people were in the old system. Sony paid us back by giving us several branches based on how far along we were in the old system. My best friend ground out 32 profs at a time when new jedi were on freeze, so in the new system he got all 6 branches and the xp as soon as he got to the village. I ground out half those profs and got 2 free unlocks with full xp.

If you were a hologrinder, you need to talk to Paemae to see your number of free unlocks.

When people talk about a free unlock, they are talking about the unlocks they got for having mastered a number of the holocron professions before the villiage was implemented, so that they would not have ground out whole professions for nothing. So, IF you mastered at least three holocron professions BEFORE the villiage was introduced, you can get onebranch (for each holocron profession you mastered after the first two) unlocked for free, with free xp to train that branch.

If your curious about how "lucky" or not you were to get the free unlocks, read this:
