Thread: Clarification on Opening Tiers & ForceXP

After a little bit of time dealing with the documentation and playing around in the village, I actually started getting the hang of how it's set up. There are a couple of things that I still need a little clarification on, though.

All of the documentation that I've read says you can only open up the force sensitive tiers if you complete certain missions from people in the village. I grabbed the medical mission to open Enhanced Senses. I dug around a a little more and found that all I had to do was visit Noldan and he trained me on Enhanced Senses. While I was there, I also got trained on Enhanced Reflexes and Combat Prowess. I have 3 force sensitive tiers open and I didn't complete a single mission in the village. Does that sound right to you?

Another thing I'm having trouble understanding is Force XP. Mainly, how do you get it? I know I could just go out there and get normal XP and then convert it over to Force XP, but is there a way to get Force XP purely? If so, is it faster to get pure Force XP or just go after normal XP and convert it?

Thanx for the clarification.

Not familiar with the term 'tier' for FS stuff, but you should be able to train any of the novice boxes so long as you have the 50K of appropriate FS exp... what the missions unlock are the various branches of each tree... i.e. in phase 4 you can unlock the melee defensefor enhanced reflexes... so what you have so far makes sense

I have not found any pure FS exp... everything has to be converted

Thanx for the clarification.

Hope that helps

Ok. Understanding a little better. Now once that branch is unlocked from you completing a mission, it is always unlocked or just throughout the phase? If it's just open during that phase, I have a hard time understanding how you're gonna get XP into it to complete it.

The trees you unlock are always going to be unlocked, you don't have to do them during the specific phase. And as for which phase gives you which skills, a couple of the stickys at the top of the page tell you exactly which phase unlocks which line.

yea, once it's unlocked, you can put xp into it anytime.

What a lot of people are doing are just unlocking the phases, and then banking the xp as they go untill they are ready to fill all 6 at once. Mind you each box costs 1 sp I believe, so if you take a box as you go, if you are full templeted, you'll have to give in some of your skills.

Well, I understand the ForceXP now. All through conversions.

The "phase" concept has been hard for me to grasp. I understand that certain things can only be unlocked during that specific phase. Let me write down what I think I understand and then you guys can tear it apart, tell me I'm an idiot, and then tell me what is correct. I'll just use one branch in a tree as an example.

Let's say I want Melee Defense branch of Enhanced Reflexes. I go and grind out enough XP to do that entire branch. It doesn't have to be during that specific phase. Then when that phase does come around, I pick up the right mission from a specific person in the village and complete it. This will allow me to then train in that branch. I take all of my XP that I've saved up and dump it into that branch all at once. I have successfully completely my Melee Defense branch.

Is this correct?

Yes that is correct, once you take the quest for a specific phase, finish it, you can then train in it.

seems about right..

Basicly, you can only train (put xp into) a branch that you have unlocked. You can only do one quest per phase, and there are 3 unique quests each phase, creating a cycle(4 phases). You can train (put xp into) a branch anytime, as long as it's unlocked. (you don't have to rush to train an entire branch that phase)

You need 6 full branches, meaning 18 weeks minimum.(3 weeks per phase * 6 phases) (unless you get free unlocks from the old hologrind system)

Now to top it off, you can convert your xp anytime, and bank as much fs-xp as you want. Apparently no-one has hit a cap yet to my knowledge.
