When SOE brought in the new FS system they said it was to cut down on the grinding of all the different profs. Well they succeeded in doing that as you can now get to jedi without changing profs (mostly). However, this system hasnt cut down on grinding. Theres an insane amount of grinding involved to get to Jedi. It seems that the way other MMORPG's are going now is more quest based and less grinding. I also think SOE have improved their questing system quite a bit with Kashyyyk, etc
So my suggestion is that SOE introduce a system where to unlock branches you have 2 options - an easy quest and a really hard quest. This would mean if you done the easy quests you could still grind out 6 million FS xp (to keep the solo players happy). The hard quests would mean that even though you unlock the same branch (i.e. gives the same skills) the xp requirements would be far less. This would mean that you would get a better sense of reward for questing which is what all MMORPG's are trying to promote these days.

Won't happen. SOE doesn't care about the casual gamer, as evidenced by pretty much everything they've done since release. The Jedi quests will never be made easier, only more difficult. The reason for this is that SOE is setting the pace of new Jedi by how fast a powergamer can become a Jedi, not by how fast a casual gamer can.
