Thread: Question about the sith named Mel
I read all the posts about enlisting the aid of riflemen to help pull Mellichae and using snares/roots combined with kiting around the camp to basically wear him down over time. The problem we kept running into with this approach is that sometimes, Mel would get too close to one of the riflemen or another of us in the group, and he would manage to DB that person. Once he did that, he'd sometimes drop agro, if nobody else happened to be shooting him at the time. Everytime he dropped agro, he immediately +RETREAT+ed back to the camp and healed back up all the way very quickly. We weren't more than about maybe 60m from the camp center, tops.
How I ended up doing it (I'm Master Swords/TKM/Master Brawler, with some Pikeman) is I enlisted the aid of a Jedi (fully templated, I believe) and another melee person like me. This selection of profs was not on purpose, it's just who I could round up to help me at the time. The two of us melee folks kept Mel agro'd and occupied by tanking and hitting him. The Jedi kept us healed. We just kept the Armor Break, Intimidates, Stuns, and KDs going on Mellichae, and he dropped without a problem. I realize this was a risk for me as the mission holder, because I could have died and failed the mission. But after several attempts using riflemen and other kiting type methods, we tried this last approach.
My assessment is that if you get two or three good strong melee types with good defense and the ability to inflict states like those above, and can deal out decent damage, all you really need is a very good healer (doesn't necessarily need to be Jedi, I suppose) or two to keep the two fighting combatants at full health.
Do not attract the attention of Daktar, who is CL 100, and not required for the fulfillment of the mission. He's ranged, and was doing around 700 to 800 dmg per shot to me.
Prior to getting the aid of these two people, I took out the crystals myself at long range with my handy Advanced Laser Rifle. Takes maybe a minute or two per crystal. If I got agro'd, I'd either choose to deal with them if they were just the regular Sith, or run if it was Daktar or Mellichae. I'd make sure not to go further than 300m, but you can usually just run around in a big circle and eventually, the agro drops. Then, it's back to crystal destruction! After that, because I was still alone and didn't have my friends yet, I managed to pull several of the Sith bodyguards individually and take care of them.

- You need to be a Rifleman.
- Go to the camp and get under cover 65m from the first crystal and take it down.
- Get your speeder out and go to 65m from the second crystal, and position yourself so that you are diagonally the furthest possible away from the camp. Once that crystal is down, you will get agro from the whole camp. Jump on your speeder and loose the agro by driving away in the same diagonal line away from the camp. This is so that none does area attacks close to the other crystals. If they do, the other crystals will be bugged.
- Repeat the process for the 2 last crystals.
- Once all the crystals are down, do one shot on Mellichae and burst run. He runs faster than all the others, and after a while you will loose the agro of all besides Mellichae. Be carefull not to outrun him and loose his agro, pause if you have to.
- Once you are alone with mellichae, you should be able to solo him. He has a lot of HAM, but doesn't hit very hard.
