Thread: How to make the commander run...tried twice, both times worked

This is how it seems to be working:
Person A captures the commander. Person A then dies. Person B recaptures the commander. Commander will now run. Keep in mind if Person B is the one who lowered the shields, he wont get group credit for the mission, nor will Person A get credit for the success of the mission.
I've had it happen to me twice (I was the one who died both times). Now the real challenge is finding someone willing to capture and then die. I know I couldn't, not even my guildmates were willing.
Yep, this quest brings out the best in people. Just thought I'd share my experiences. Maybe it'll help someone out.

hmm must have been a bug or something for me cuz I got credit. This is what happened I lowered the shields but died before I could kill 5 siths (we lowered it before the turrets was gone 
) the other one couldn't talk to the commander so he killed some siths and then capturedthe commanderand I got the mission failed. But I helped him kill siths all the way back to the village (we where still grouped) and I got credit for it and I also (so did he) get the bonus. But my quest journal got a bit buggedcuz ofit
I can still do the quest again

this is true, the time i talked about in my recent post about this, the original person was killed in a duel to rock our server by our group leader...TKM/CM got beat my a master powers jedi with a pistol O.o it was strangely equal. Anyway, he died due to our leader's unimaginable anger, his partner re-captured him, and ran him back, never thought it was the death that caused it.

OMG *FDL* Was this jedi/tkm cm fight on Bloodfin at the theta base? *FDL* if it was then it was me (ateth) and afauviel who did that *chuckles* its true I couldn't keep that commander at more than a 15 meter distance from me and had to run back to the base once to recapture him when he escaped but still made it back in time. Kept on getting asked at the village how I got the commander to run and I had no idea except maybe he was just an exceptionally fast commander *laughs* oh this cracks me up!

I got credit this way:
2 man grp, man 1 shield duty, man 2 escort.
I drop the shield and in the frey I die.
Man 2 still duking it out at the base while i am at cloner, he disbands the grp and regrps with his wife.
I return to help assuming i failed. They grp me back, wife takes the commander, we get to the vil and his wife and Ipass the quest !!!
We go back 2 hrs later and get man 2 his unlock.

I know I would be happy to help a person out on my server if they needed my help. If dying made the commander run I would happy to help out Of course it shouldn't be too much to ask for a Sunrider’s Destiny Crystal or a Focused Crystal in return

I was sitting there in disbelief too *laughs* after having to go back for him at the base once and several other escape attempts which my friend had to offer me a ride to catch up to him since I have terrible terain negotiation, I didn't think we'd make it and i was litterally -running- the whole way except on going down hill where I had to pause a bit for him to catch up. I don't know how much time we had left but I am sure I made it by the skin of my teeth *laughs*
wish I coulda gotten the mind buff crystal cause I am Master CM and that woulda helped a lot but its all good, I'm just glad I was able to unlock

I cant get the mind buff crystal to do anything at all /shrug. But all I wanted was the sunrider anyway.

Hey I got the same.
I allready wrote a /bug and opened a ticket about it...
I hope we don't get shaftet in the next phase.....

I have got a reply from a csr about this and he said it wont be effected on thenext phase (like remove our unlock) but that I should make another ticket about it, if it do

Fair warning for anyone considering it, this didn't work for our group. Death of the player caused the commander to die instantly, the other person could not capture them.
