Thread: NEED HELP I THINK I MAJORLLY SCREWED UP!!!

Hi, I would like to start by saying that i am a master swordsman and that is the ONLY profession that I have mastered. I told myself that I would not unlock either melee defense or ranged defense as as a swordsman I am nearly maxed out @ 25 pts anyways. ( i think i an @ 22 for each) so like an idiot what do i do. I talk to capt. sarg and go do the quest for melee defense, thinking this was some other one. Also because it seemed like the quest everyone else was doing. I suceeded and killed the necessary amounts of pirates and outlaws. Only to find out that I have unlocked one of branches that I didnt want. Is there any way to fix this? I still have not transfered enough pts to become a novice @ enhanced refelexes. I did a little (very few) like an idiot once again. Or if there is no way to fix it is there any way that someone can console me? I mean I am sort of confused wsith all of these points, and what maxes out whom and the whole force quest village thingy majigger. I remeber in some quests in the past there was a way to reset stuff, is there a way to do this? Am I mistaken in thinking swordsman or even TKA whom i believe max out @ 25 as well for melee def. can not benefit from unlocking this branch? Please anything or any useful info would BE EXTREEMLY APPRECIATTED! I just felt like I just wasted the whole reason I have been playing this game, so I could become a really good jedi, rather than just a mediocore one (yeah i know i cant spell) If any one can help me whatsoever please post some useful info or if you are a kind person please feel free to email me in game @ crif. thanks y'all for reading this post.

Yeah, you can fix it but it's a pain in the ass.
You need to finish all 6 branches first, then take the branch that you really meant to take the next time the phase cycles around. After you finish that branch you can drop the one you didn't want.

Just Swordsman or TKA doesn't max Melee or Ranged Defense, so if Swordsman is all you have, it will help. Also, if you are planning on becoming a Jedi, you do want the Melee Defense and Range Defense lines, as well as Melee Speed and Melee Accuracy.

well i think i feel a little better since i know it can be fixed. even though it means I have to wait an extra however many weeks. Hey its a game right? AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHH jeez one of the most frustrating games ever. However, my next question is as a master swordsman and wanting to become a jedi which branches would i like to unlock? Could you guys help me there? Thanks in advance!

I'm a master swordsman and I didn't have enough melee defense until I took Fencer 4000 and Pikeman 0040. Now I have +104 melee defense. If you can do TKA 0004 you'll be on the road to great melee defense. As for force branches take all the melee ones and ranged defense. You could do luck and persuasion but combat and weapons xp don't convert for that so you may want to take the easy way out and get all melee and ranged stuff.

Yeah im really doubting that youre already capped on melee def. Im tkm, with +5 from the FS tree, and +5 from field tactics in commando. I only have 74 melee def, and i believe the cap is 125.
and like others said, youre going to want it. even if you cap now, youll lose melee def once you start dropping skills in favor of jedi skills.

umm, its not 25 defense for cap.. its 125 melee / ranged def cap.. no way with just swordsmen are you capped.
