I've been able to buy the sith resources without much problem on the bazaar. Granted 200 x 6k is 1.2 M, but any crafter can handle that. Also that is the most, I would say an average of 3k is more like it, so 600k to maybe 800k in resource costs. So it is doable so I wouldn't let the quest choices hold you back.

Ok here is the deal, I am trying to choose between 2 sets of FS skills coming up in Phases 1 and 2.
Set 1 Set 2
Phase 1 - Survival Crafting Assembly
Phase 2 - Crafting Techniques Vehicular Control
The issue is that I would rather have survival than vehicular control, but I dont know if i can complete the phase 2 crafting quest based on the gated system and so on. Also I do not know how Crafting Techniques +4 compares to Crafting Assembly +20 and would take either Reflexes branch to get the better crafting one.
So my questions:
How hard is the Phase 2 crafting quest to just complete? i.e. dont care about the reward just want the unlock
How does the Crafting Techniques branch compare to the Crafting Assembly branch as it pertains to outcome of a product being crafted?
What is the best way to grind crafting xp as a medic? - No crafting branch yet but willing to use a skill point to get the xp
Since I have to pick up novice artisan at a minimum to complete willit provide me a better crafting xp grinding option than the medic?

Phase 2 complete is not that hard if you have combat skills or a PA that will help.
Techniques lower critcal failures (usefull for DE and SW)
Assembly gives better chance of amazing success on creation.
I would say Assembly is worth more then Techniques but thats just me.

If you are going to grind Crafting FS then I suggest getting the Artisan:Engineering tree. Then get DE [0,0,0,3].
With this you can grind out 240,000 DE XP for 48,000 Crafting FS XP everytime you max out. You only need steel and fibreplast to do this and there are only two clicks. Get 5 or 6 WGD crafting tools and get grinding macro. Set those up and you can grind the max out in about an hour, but your clicking hand will pay for it!

What soecifically I am making at DE 0003 to get the xp? What provides the most in there?

I am grinding the experimentation force skill and then going to do repair, I thought about assembly and technique but I dont think I could handle the crafting grind, I was actually thinking of taking up shipwright to grind the crafting exp but I want to get the grinding materials first.
Any chance someone could explain a crafting macro? I am not very good with macros.
lol and to answer your question, I would take anything over a crafting skill to grind, find a tumbler for senses and grind missions for combat, but to sit and craft for endless hours just kills me, mostly because I do it for my business already, it really takes time away from plying in space and going hunting for meats.

Ooops! Forgot to tell you what to grind. Advanced Droid Frames! All the way, I'm half way through the Crafting tree with these.
And to Dr. Bill. You can't grind with SW. Apparently the Devs think it is not a Crafting profession and there is no conversion rate for it.
Crafting Macros:
Do a search on the guides forum. Basically you write a program for each tool you have. It will automate the crafting process as much as it can and then call the next tool. You will still have to click the ingredients tho, so be ready. If you set it up right it will loop through all of your tools. The way I have mine setup is Macro1 calls Macro2, which calls Macro 3, all the way to Macro6 which calls Macro 1. With this set up I grind about 2.5k DE XP per round.
