Thread: Confused about something with the village missions/xp conversion

Thanks, I think I understand now.
I'd forgotten that the quests were to unlock trees.
I presume I was able to unlock the Combat tree after only doing the first 3/8 because of Free unlocks?
My account is from 2003 and I'd done i think 2 or 3 master profs based on holocrons under the old system
so I guess that means I got a vetran freebie?
Wouldn't surprise me since when I came back after a year away I got about 50 million popups of "claim your reward?"

FS XP cap is 5,000,000 per type. Each entire tree takes 4,950,000 FS xp to fill, so there is no worries in regards to banking xp. My plan is to hold my template until I get all the xp I need for 6 branches and then fill them in.

If you do have a free unlock, talk to Paemos I believe and he will let you know if you do or dont.

so you do all of the quests and unlock all 6 trees, then how does it work from there...I have read the stickies and I don't understand all of it.

You pick which 6 quests you will want to do and the phases they are unlocked in. you will need to grind the exp to fill these branches. You need 6 full trees 24 boxes in all. Total is something like 7.5mil FS exp. Trade in values will vary depending on your temp and choice of quest. Simple really though. Get quest, unlock that branch. Try this link there are refrences to other guides as well as quest walkthroughs.

Ok so I've only been FS for a little while but here's the breakdown, i'm a touch confused because some stuff in the sticky posting guide seems to have changed.
i went to the village and started doing quests (having chosen the "we need to take the fight to them" option) for Deerean... Deariac... whatever that dude's name is.
sith search n destroy stuff. im at 6/8 so far. 2 more to do today.
in between i've been grinding combat/weapon xp in the neighborhood of 2 to 3 million a day and converting to force.
right now i've got novice combat prowess and am working on the melee speed box 1.
question is, if i keep grinding/converting until i fill my 6 full trees (yeah it'll take a while at 1:30 conv) ,
when i reach 6 will i be eventually visited by the old guy for the exit quest waypoint? or does it depend on 6 trees Plus a certain progression of village quests?
it just seems like right now they'll let me keep grinding xp to convert to my heart's content whether i do the village quests or not.
or is it just working like that becuase I have been doing my 3 per day ?

The answer is, you wont be able to train in all 6 of the FS threads until you have finished an "unlocking" quest for each thread, 6 in all. Therefore, you will have to complete 6 quests to unlock 6 threads to spend your FS experience in.
As far as the experience, you can rack it up and store it to your heart's content. There are fs experience caps, but they are very high. I recall being able to fill one thread with training the same day i unlocked it with stored FS experience.
