When do you become a Jedi Initiate? After the 6 branches at the village and before becoming a padawan? Im confused...

After you unlock and train all your 6 branches you will get a visit from the old dude. Thats when you become Initiate... While you are Jedi Initiate you will undergo the Padawan Trails. Upon completion of the trials you will be awarded the title of Padawan, and the BH's will be able to hunt you.

actually not quite.
You complete 6 branches, old man comes and sees you, tells you to kill mel.
---you go kill mel. You get a system message to go to the nearest force shrine (gives you waypoint).
------Kneel and select "meditate" on the menu at the force shrine. You get a pop up box with your first trial.
---------After your 8th trial, you get the message from the force shrine "Due to your progress thus far, you are given rank of Jedi initiate and can now craft your own lightsaber"... This is when you get initiate.
----------- Complete the rest of the 16 trials and you are given Jedi Padawan.
