The other possibility is that I had taken the Y -8 mining quest which is bugged out and I simply deleted that waypoint. Perhaps that was it?

The old man came yesterday and today I went to do the Dantooine parts of the rebel theme park. Ackbar said I was working on a quest for someone else. Without thinking that he might have meant the Old Man, I told him to clear it. Will the Sith still come or should I delete the force crystal and wait for the Old Man to come again? I had no quest in my journal.
