Yeah soI bought some cruddy C12 frag grenades so i can get combat exp for kills. Well I'm havinga hard time gaining combat exp for kills with them. How exactly do you use them? 
Sometimes I will let my group kill a monster all the way down to low hp, then i will throw one C12 and get 13k combat exp for it. But sometimes i throw a C12, shoot at the monster with my pistol, and then get only the regular 1200 combat and like 13k pistol exp.

I dont get it. Sometiems it works, someitmes it doesn't.

In the second case, you got only pistol and regular combat XP because...you missed! Welcome to grenades! You can miss throwing whole stacks of them! Actually, if you're a pistoleer, grab a rifle and a carb and get 200K extra XP for each of them before you head off to the Village. Will get you some more combat XP too. To really benefit from grenades, you should be a Master COmmando with Thrown Accuracy SEAs. Even so, you'll just wind up gaining XP while lying on your back waiting for a Doc to rez you after you've aggro'd everything for miles around with your thermal detonator. 
Really, take advantage of the last few days of Double-XP week and grind 'n' travel and don't worry about grenades.

the way ive been doing it, is to beat my group to the mission, chuck 1 on the lair and run, u either get incapped or get away, then bein a CM i can go back and hurt the things without affecting combat xp. if u use nade u cant hurt the creatures any other way than CM attacks as far as i kno, any other attack or medical stuff causes your combat xp to drop alot, u need to be in a high CL group for this to work, as a MBH i can max out combat xp in 1 hour - 1.5 hour. Good luck and make the most of double xp. I am and i've almost finished all the xp i need with just 1 quest to do. Hope this helps any1 with nade problems.

The most group friendly way to grind with grenades is to fight like usual, just dont shoot the lair. once there are no mobs around, throw a grenade atthe lairand dont fire a single shot at it afterwards. That way you help your group and still get around 10k extra combat xp per lair.
