Thread: The Jedi Path

Do a killcount on each of the characters in all the Star Wars movies'then tell me Jedi are peaceful buddhists.
But they don't go running up to non-agressives, kill them and rob them of their personal momentos (ie. holocrons) and they certainily don't do it to hundreds of them.
However we're not jedi yet so I guess SOE thinks it's perfectly reasonable for us to take the 'easy' way to FS-unlock by slaughtering all these force sensitive types and stealing their holocrons.
You know...maybe the devs keep the professions boring enough so we'll give them up and take up new ones in search of the holy-grail-of-meaningful-content on PURPOSE so we'll eventually try enough of them to unlock our FS slot. The holocrons our for the less patient but more bloodthirsty amoung us...
I, on the other hand, am a Smuggler and we all know how much smuggling content there is so I'm unlikely to ever give up my uber profession and reach the coveted FS slot.
In one of the Star Wars books, I think Anderson's, about Luke Skywalker setting up a Jedi academy on Yavin 4, it mentions how Luke goes about "looking" for force sensitive folks throughout the galaxy, finding people who didnt even know they were force sensitive. He would have R2D2 look through data records for people who were statistical outliers in any way. One guy had a nearly impossibly successful gambling record. (SWG hotels have casinos). One had an uncanny ability to find resources in the planet that had Cloud City (artisan surveying). Another had an uncanny record of saving people from his village from a small moon that had constant volcanoes and other natural disasters.
So maybe the jedi path is "organic" and "independent of starting career" if your main character isin someway a statistical outlier. So any attribute (or set of attributes) could be the key variable(s) like money, combination of professions mastered, XP, units harvested, average percentage of surveyed areas, and so forth. The outlier test could be that your attribute 100% higher than the next closest person. So for all players, lets say you have 30 million credits. And the next richest person has 15 million credits. In this case, you have 100% higher than the next closest person. Boom! You unlock FSCS.
Is the general method still the same? Master some professions, get badges, guy visits, find the village, unlock trees, grind like hell? Also, whats the exact qualifications for recieving a visit?
And the answer to what you said is yes, it's still the same. Read the stickies for path information (top of the FS board).
Welcome back.
