Force Sensitive Archive

You get glowy, you do the village, you do the exit quest, and finally get Padawan. When you finish with all that, are you able to grind and train all your Jedi Boxes that you want before the Knight Trials? The reason I ask is because the FRS is turned off. With it off, even if you're eligible, you won't be able to take the trials, right? ( Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm trying to plan out every detail before glowy so I can chart the fastest and best route).
