It says "Item must be looted to work" or something like that. I sent a ticket. Does anyone know of this happening before?

You may just have to destroy it and wait for the old man to come again.

He's right in that you need to destroy it, this happened to me. Usually happens if you fight and kill the sith while loading. You don't need to wait for another visit from the old man, though. Hang around for a bit and the Sith should come by again.

the same thing happened 2 me i just went back 2 the place where the sith attacked me the 1st time and killed them again and it worked the 2nd time

Jesus, talk about bad information. You don't need to destroy it or wait around. You should be able to just put it in your backpack then try again. This is an old workaround from day 1 of the new FS system.
