What are the best 6 branches to get for Jedi.

I'm new to being FS and am curious on your thoughts.

In particular I'm curious which are the best branches for being a FULL Jedi. Not enhancing other profs.

Thanks for your thoughts and feedback.

I'm getting all of the Reflexes skills and the Melee Speed and Accuracy Skills from Combat. Seem the most usefull to me.

I was thinking about doing the same since it seems that melee speed and accuracy are capped from what I've been reading? (I'm TKM).

Actually it looks like Melee Accuracy is the most benifical since accuracy with a lightsaber is very low (even at master). This is according to what I just read from the Jedi Revamp guide 1.3

The conventional wisdom is:

Melee Accuracy

Melee Speed --while you are capped at MLS, there is a very long grind to MLS)

Melee Defense

Ranged Defense (while at MLS you have tremendous ability to block ranged shots, again its a long grind until then)

Plus 2 others that are easy for you to get.

Personally I'd suggest 2 of these:

Luck (for better loot, hopefully)

Survival (for +5 to terrian negotiation)

Vehicular control (many folks say this has the most noticable effect of any of the FS skills)

Some people get the crafting skills to help in crafting lightsabers, but its probably a very minor benefit and unless you have a free unlock, get the xp for this branch will be much harder than the others. Persuasion seems very jedi like, but apparently it doesn't do very much.

Good luck.

Ranged Defense
Melee Defense
Melee Speed
Melee Accuracy
Survival
Luck

Those are the magic 6. Depending on your Jedi template the defenses may be of permanent use to you, although the CU may change this. Melee speed and accuracy will help you through your early days as Jedi. Survival is the only way to get terrain neg as a Jedi. Luck will be of permanent use increasing the amount and quality of drops from mobs you loot….crystals….perals….creds. This is just my opinion, but I can’t see what else would be of any real use, except the experimentation crafting skill. I chose those 6, and have no regrets.

These choices would be dependant on your current skill set, and how your going to surender. During the village quests I was Master Doc & Master Sword. I thouhgt I'd keep Doc and trade Sword for Saber, but I'm mostly doing it the other way around.

melee and ranged defence are great, melee accuracy doesn't do enough, you're much better off with the chef food citrus snow cake which gives +40 accuracy and lasts about 23 mins, only 28 stomach filling so when it wears off you can pop another.

But I did take melee def, ranged def, melee speed (does help until ls 0/0/3/0 then you dont' notice it muc hand are better off getting force speed to help out) and melee accuracy. My 2 wasted columns were healing and ranged accuracy. With 4 free unlocks, I didn't really pay enough attention to what I was doing.

But here's some more food for thought. Melee and ranged defence don't do much (in the system prior to CU) until you have at least 125 (which is the cap) and even at that you need another +25 (be clothing)to notice the effects. I went into padawan with fencer 4/0/0/0 which combined with these columns gave me around +134 melee and ranged. I have since dropped all fencer. I actually went from fencer 2/0/0/0 to not even novice brawler in the middle of a grind session. I saw NO noticable difference after losing all my melee defence.

My point being that the only column that seems to actually matter in all the force treesis melee speed (which is debatable since lightsaber is not a melee weapon, its very hard to tell if I get any speed bonus at all).

In order to consider the trees, you should consider your jedi template. If you are going to master defender, then ranged and melee def make perfect sense. You will get up into the numbers that start to work. If you are not going to include any defender in your jedi template, then these columns will contribute little, if any, to your jedi. MLS will be your ranged defence since jedi block is the only really effective defence vs. ranged. As for defence vs. melee tanks, that's hard to say, jedi toughness seems to be the only answer and that's in the defender tree.

So if you really want to know what 6 trees to grab, start doing some number crunching on a character generator and figure out what your jedi will be. Do you want PvP, PvE or both? Do you want to compromise one or the other for special powers? It's a decision that can't be taken lightly because regrinding trees from the village isn't much of an option once you get high enough.

If I could do it all over again, I'd be vehicle control, luck, repair, survival, melee defence and ranged defence (in hopes that CU will make low numbers havemore an effect)

Then you my friend are blind.

roger that..... i am finished with melee def/ and ranged def....... now working on melee accuracy tree.... i have unlocked survival and vehicle control...but since i am no where near filling those trees...i am still deciding whether i want vehicle control or luck........... def need survival as 5th branch........ soooo still deciding...but i heard that luck does not help with loot.....

As always, its depetable. Here's my template(Or soon to be finished template):

Master Pikeman

Master Swordsman

Master Brawler

Novice Medic and First Aid 1(Good to be able to heal when you grind on Rancors.)

The boxes I've unlocked are:

Ranged Accuracy(I really don't want it though.)

Survival(I want it)

Melee Speed(I want it)

Next phase I'm getting Melee Accuracy(Again I want it)

Then the Melee Defence tree during Phase 4(I want that too)

Then phase 1 comes around and I've got 2 skills from that already(Survival and Ranged Accuracy) so I will have to wait till the next phase 2 and then I'll pick up Vehicle control(I really want that, maybe doesn't help being Jedi much but its a cool tree regardless.)

Finally, I will either wait 3 more weeks and get Ranged Defence, or just take Ranged Accuracy, to be honest I feel you are grinding like hell for these trees, you may aswell pick ones your gonna be happy with, even if it takes a few more phases.

Might I add that the vehicle branch gives a very notable acceleration boost.

I compared it with an account that doesn't have it and it's really a big difference.
