Thread: The OLD MAN won't talk to me!

Oh how frustrating is this!!
It's been 2 days looking for this guy and finally I find him! I was in a player city I noticed a White Dot on my map away from the normal trainers and such and guess what! It's him! YAY! Well I rushed over to him (My Quest journal started blinking and said to talk to the old man). Only problem is that I can't talk to the old man the only thing I can do is examine him. He just stands there, does not move, and even after and hour+ of logging in/out, shuttling, ranting, and sending tickets he is STILL just standing there lol. I would think that he is just bugged but, everytime I shuttle into the player city my Quest journal blinks.. Ofcourse no CSR will help me :/ ..

This is likely someone else's old man visit.
After you talk to the old man, he stays spawned for a while...I've come across a few of these myself.
When the old man does visit you, he will call you by name...and he will run up to you.
I know the wait can be painful, try shuttling around to a few different places...he will find you.

Yea he did not call my name (didn't know that he does thatlol) he was just standing there and I approached him. I hope everything still works but, again thank you very much for info!

It can also take 3 days. He will come to you and mention you by name.

Yea I hope he will show tomorrow. The only thing that bugs me though is that my idiot Quest journal keeps blinkingeverytime I login or shuttle around. It says:
Title: I should Speak to the OldMan
Description:" Talk with the old man and find out why he sought you out ".
This makes me feel like I'm bugged or something. Anyoneelse have thisin therejournal while waiting for the old man to spawn?Oh and I only saw this come up till after I tryed hailing/examining the old man that was just standing in the player city..

The quest journal thing is normal.
Your QJ will kind of flicker all the time, mission or no mission, but especially when you have an outstanding mission, it will pulse like that.
When you're hanging around, doing your thing, keep your overhead map (CTRL & M) on.
That way you'll see any white dots appear.
IIRC he wont appear on your radar as a white dot when he spawns...only the overhead map.
No need to worry if you're on a speeder or anything...for an old guy, he can motor!!
I was on my swoop driving, when I saw this white arrow spawn and start gaining on me, while I was driving my swoop, lol...was funny.
Rest assured though, he'll come.
When he does, he'll call you by name.
Remember that the devs stated that the access to the village, and the old man visits would be gated...meaning that if theres too many people in the village that the visits may be slowed.
No idea what formula they use, or how thats determined, but that was the word from them.

Well I finished my FS Grind at 11:30pm Sunday night...logged in Monday after work, shuttled to a player city, walked out of town, walked back into town and there he was. . . approximately 16 hours later.
Maybe I just have good luck but it was the same MO when I became FS. . maybe it is the 15-16 hour downtime.

Thanks for the info man! Yea I'm pretty depressed on this :/. I'm on day 3! I tryed everything.. login/logout ... shuttle around / stay near player cities/ walk to 0,0 .. Ok i'm not playing a ton or anything but, I spent alot of hours at nite tryin to get this idiot to spawn. All I need is a few more hours and it'll be day 4 and I guess I send in a ticket or something. I wouldn't really care at all but, its just reallyanoying having to constantly look around while traveling to a mission or what ever. You know how it is:
LOOK A white triangle!!! Oh wait it's just somones speeder.....

Damn. If it was 4 days for me i would be going crazy as well. . . I know this is a really, really dumb question but you have done 6 full branches right?

6 Full branches? I'm just waiting for the old man to gimmie the crystal (to start the village quest). I double checked everything and all I can do is wait to send a ticket in. Then wait 7 days for a CSR to tell me that he cannot help.. Whoa am I negative lol. If I do see the old man I'm going to drop kickem in the a$$

ooooh....so i guess it was a dumb question. I guess I assumed you finished your FS quests and waiting on the second old man visit. I remember when the village was first introduced it was said that the number of peeps in the village per phase was finite so old man visits were limited. If this is the case, then wait for the village phase to shift. There was a significant number of people who unlocked this phase and will no longer be in the village.
