I realize that there must have been posts about this before, but it has to be fixed, This is to remind the devs that the problem is still there.

Enhanced Reflexes

ER bonus to Survival [+5 to: Camping, Foraging, Mask Scent, Creature Harvesting, Creature Knowledge, Trapping, Terrain Negotiation]

Only Combat, Weapons, Squad Leader, or Bounty Hunter xp --> ER

Heightened Senses

Scout, Trapping, or Survival xp --> HS

HS requires either novice artisan or medic

HS has no bonus of benifit to a Ranger

Ranger needs combat Profession to survive, hunt, and convert xp leaving only 4 SP to use for FS skills.

No Master Ranger with a Master Combat skill has enough SP to get novice artisan or medic

Master Ranger has no benefits to combat, defensive or offensive, therefore needs a master combat profession.

This is quite obviously wrong. Why has it not been fixed?

I posted this to the FS board, but figure it needs to be seen here too. I realize that there must have been posts about this before, but it has to be fixed, This is to remind the devs that the problem is still there. I feel they need to be told as many times as it takes for this problem to get fixed.

Because we are a non-factor in combat as Rangers (any level, really.)

The ER line is useless to Rangers. I have Survival (I mispicked). I will never ever never fill this block.

I also went and got Artisan for about an hour, did the quest that opened Luck, and I am using my Scout/trapping/survival/medical XP to fill that line of boxes. Then I dropped artisan and got medic back.

Not that we don't care that "Survival" is filled using combat xp, but I know I don't. Besides, I get more combat/weapon xp than I do scout XP anyhow.

I've got Master Ranger and TKM right now. I have been working on brawler 2-handed swords so I can keep TKM post CU. That only leaves 4 SP. I cannot take up artisan without giving up one of my masters.

I could give one up to go up that line just for the sake of getting six branches, then work my butt off to get it back. It still doesn't make any sense at all to use scouting xp to get these bonuses. Plus why on earth can you use artisan or medic but not scout if it uses scout xp.The logic of this is just wrong.

Heightened Senses:[+10 to: Injury Treatment Speed, Injury Treatment,Wound Healing (Dancing), Wound Healing (Music)]
Heightened Senses: Surveying [+20 surveying]}
Heightened Senses: Persuasion [+20 persuasion]
Heightened Senses: Luck [+4 luck]

I'm not sure what persuasion or luck could do for a ranger.

Wait til the CU hits live. Right now I'm getting significantly more Scout XP than Weapons XP on most kills. I'm also noticing that harvesting lower Con creatures results in getting a decent amount of Scout XP while the kill is only 1 weapon xp.

Scout XP is coming much faster in the CU... for better or for worse.

WIldBil-

Perhaps I misspoke (or mistyped).

On the basic planets, I go out and kill a durni and get one point weapons xp - no combat. I then harvest said durni and get 100 xp for doing that. Sure, Scout is faster here. And I have been doing that to pump up the Scout. Hunting little things that give decent scout, stuff I drop in one shot.

I go to Endor. I start beating on Gleaming Lantern BIrds. I get 3k plus weapons xp and 300 combat. 400+ trap xp per trap. But my one time harvest xp is in the 400+ range. In this case I got a load of weapons and combat and only some scout.

Considering I spend more time on Endor than I do Corellia - weapons xp tends to max out first.

Anyone ever notice, trap xp per trap is scout xp for harvest?

Also. The Luck quest only needs novice artisan to complete. WIth maskscent I zoomed all over Dath and got it done in no time, no aggros and got scout xp for being maskscented. What it does for me as a Ranger - more money looted from NPCs and when I do loot creatures I get better stuff. At least I am supposed to, and it does seem to work.

I think it was I that mispoke.

I agree, right now in live Weapons XP comes significantly faster when your hunting on Endor.

With the CU though that changes completely. In the CU, if I'm getting 5k weapons XP right now, I'm getting about 5k scout XP for the harvest also.

If I fight something that's Grey Con, say a CL 35 while I'm CL 80, I'm getting 1 Combat XP and about 4k Scout XP.

My comment was in response to your note about getting more weapons/combat xp than scout xp. Currently the norm in the CU is that they're about even when fighting at or around your level.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ok, which profession do you think is worth while giving up to get novice artisan, Ranger or TK? Is it just not worth being a master ranger? Should I give it up and just keep master scout? Then I can have medic orartisan. Plus the 6 points needed for FS branches, because after cu master Ranger/elite combat prof only leaves 4.

My whole point is why isn't /scout/ranger xp used for scout/ranger bonuses.

I can see how luck is useful if you are doing a lot of looting, but I do more harvesting than looting to tell the truth.

I really love being a ranger and don't want to give it up. I really don't want to give up TKM either, it has really kept me from getting killed many times.

Just so you know, the Devs were informed of this problem before the system went live (see here). I've been hoping they would fix it for a while but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

JBMat, I think he is only trying to say, doesn't make a lot more sense that the only FS area that is suppose to help anything in Scout/Ranger can not benefit form Scout/Ranger XP. I have always thought this doesn't make any sense. Sure I can get there faster with Weapons XP, but why shouldn't I also be able to use Scout/Ranger XP to convert in this area as well.

It is sort of like if the situation was reversed, by which I mean, lets say you got all your melee and ranged FS XP by doing Scout/Ranger Medic or Artisan. How do you think those seeking this FS boxes would feel about this? Correct they would be ticked off and demanding to know why do they have to be come a medic, and artisan or a scout to filling in the XP needed for fighting FS skills. I think this is all he is trying to get at. We don't all go for the same FS boxes, and none of us mind if some other area of XP can also be converted to FS XP to fill in the boxes we desire, but when it goes truly in your own realm of expertise, then why doesn't your expertise go towards helping fill out those FS boxes if you desire to get those.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Ow don't worry... I lowered my expectations miles below the freezing point... If there comes any warmth from the devs it would be noticed........

OTOH I can slap them on the head now:

Ranger No combat??? Survival line (=scout/ranger) in FS needs to be filled with COMBAT XP!!!!
