Thread: Question about first lightsaber

I'm almost about to fight mallichae.Just wondering when you craft your first saber and tune a crystal,is that supposed to be a damage crystal or a clear crystal? Have checked some of the faqs and not found the answer.If you know or have a posting to this particular faq ,please let me know . Thanks

It's a colored crystal, and you can't even put any damage crystals or pearls in it to make it stronger, which mean that grinding novice saber suxor. Your max damge on that thing is not very high.

Awesome ,thanks.Only have 1 damage ,but plenty of colored crystals.No pearls yet but , I will leave that to my alt.

your training saber is given to you, you dont craft it..or do you?
edit: read the guide again, i guess you do craft it.

Recieved the intiate tile uponACCEPTING the 8th quest to craft a saber.
Question though...I was never really an artisan (better get used to it...LOL) and am a little confused about the RESOURCE requirements of crafting a training saber.
I picked up some real decent resources from a guildie (aluminum, fiberplast, and known reactive gas) (Im probably wrong here Ill bet! 
).
).Put them all in a saber crafting tool that I purchased in the past month for decoration (14.88) and next to each Draft Schematic Slot there is a green bar that is nearly full (a little black at the top of each bar of green - maybe the problem too?)
Click assemble...and "The schematic is not ready for assembly...not fufilled, configure correctly, blah blah blah...."
Any advice would be appreciated, perhaps the wrong forum too here for this type of post/reply...sry

Did you craft a refined crystal pack (or 2? can't remember) to put in your saber?

Ive been so caught up in following forum directions on every aspect of the trials that...nevermind! I figured it out like 30 secs after I posted...but TY for posting and yes it does take 2 refined packs.
And boy dida Baby Huurton get it!!! LOL!!!!

trainer saber-color crystal
1st generation-1 clear or 1 pearl, color crystal
2nd generation-2 clear or 2 pearl, color crystl
3rd generation-3 clear or 3 pearl, color crystal
4th generation-4 clear or 4 pearl, color crystal
not sure when you get to make them but that is the order check the jedi forums

I just finished this quest -
You craft the lightsaber, then you will get a second pop up that says you must tune your color crystal.
In an earlier Padie quest, I looted a red crystal.
Once you tune it, you are complete.
Place it in your saber and your ready to rock and roll.
Hint - go to a research center to craft it. I was able to get the stats up a bit. (a couple of points).
You will need to craft two crystal packs before constructing the lightsaber. ( you get to name everything too!)
follow the sticky on the Jedi forum for what materials you need to use.
