Do I need to have done the most damage to get credit for the kill?

I just logged in and started shooting for all I was worth, shot atleast 30 outlaws and pirates but receive credit for only one.

I was not offered to group even when I asked if anyone had room so I couldnt get credit from the group kill.

Also, lag is giving problems aswell,by the time I have a Sith targeted they are already down to half health when I start firing.

Edited for spelling,sorry i'm drunk................again.

Yeah I think it works on the damage mate. Although Chimaera is still phase 3 and I cannot do this quest yet. *waits patiently*

So that means group wars over kill credit, seems somewhat moronic. If you don't have a full group of 8 then you have no chance either.

Aye, I came in during the middle of an assault and couldn't get in a group even though there were easily 20-30 people at the spawn point. Couldn't get any damage in whatsoever.

In the end, I had to wait until the assaultstopped and new people were showing up to start my own group. Had no troubles getting creditfor killswith an eight-person group of level 80's. Finished the quest in that one assault term.

On Bloodfin, there were easily 200 people at the spawn point the first morning. Even with that, in a full group of CL80's, I finished in two assuault terms, and I even came in during the middle of one of the terms.

The key is to be in a full group of high level players and to coordinate. One player should be designated the "leader", ideally the one with the least lag. That player should keep hitting tab until they target a mob, then fire. Everyone else should target the "leader" and constantly spam ranged shot.

Of course, this stategy works best for ranged professions, but melee could work too as long as the melee players stand on top of the spawn point.

I am not sure if the above is correct. I am a melee so I had to run all over the battlefield. I went and lunged or area attacked everything. I could tell if I hit something because it turned red over the name on my target and on my radar (alt M) , I was grouped but I thought you just had to hit them. It is loot rights that you need to do the most damage I believe. I finished my quest on 2 waves.

Maybe some can tell us if they were ungrouped and were able to get credit for the piretes and outlaws . You do have to make sure you hit them before they die. I have my cheap laptop but it was too slow for the area ( too much lag with all the people there, I use the laptop when I am traveling , when I get home I use my normal computer).

I also see why they removed 3:1 combat xp . you can nade all 6 branches this phase alone. The spawns start all grouped together. While people say they should make nades their own weapon xp, shucks... who the heck knows how hard it is to reprogam this change. You see how long it took to do the armor change and Combat Upgrade. The nade thing had to be fixed before phase 4 of the village started. ( or would we be happier with them stopping at phase 3 while they reprogamed granades to be heavy weapons or their own xp? I do not think so ) .

I am guessing Lots of people forget their bosses do lots of things that seem dumb ( and I am sure lots are dumb) but they may have information , you do not. Just like parents do dumb stuff , but they may know something you do not. MAYBE, the devs do dumb stuff because they know something , YOU do not know.

Think about it.

there was a group of 8 when i did it got most of the pirates and outlaws in one spawn cause i had already got some on the back end of an earlyer spawn i went solo and managed it i think even in a group you have to do the most damage to get the credit. there was also a jedi coming to have a go and thats just lame.

I was in a group with 2 jedi. one said he was there for the loot. I know it is not most damage based because I am a tkm/mpike/doc and I only hit the mobs once before moving on. I just let them turn red. And the AWESOME damange I do does not even piss them off to bother attacking me. LOL
I was burst running all over the battlefield when I could.

I believe that the group that does the most damage gets credit for the kill, not the person. Basically, if you get XP for killing the mob, then you get credit for it - you have to have hit the mob once and you have to be in the group that does the most damage to the mob. Which is why it's important for the entire group to focus on the same mob.
