I have been on the boards and I couldn't help but notice a few, just a few people yelling about the current change in the xp for jedi. Know,.. I have also seen a lot of you telling people to stop crying about this and to "just deal with it." Let me just add that most of the people who are telling people to stop crying are already jedi's... lol
So, my question is,.. to you current Jedi's.... would you be willing if SOE pulled your current skill tree and converted your xp to the way it is now? I know most of you would need a tissue too and most of you would maybe cry a little too.SOE should of done something a little bit better for people. After all we all pay the 15.00 a month to play the game, but then again, when has SOE really done anything for the people who play this game? After 2 years you would of thoughtSOE would of worked a little bit in the "Customer Service area" a bit better. But hay, who I am to cry... I am just another player, like you and just someone else who keeps giving SOE money to play this game,... I try not do much crying about things but at times,.. You can't help and sit back and see some of the stuff SOE does and think to yourself... "Ok,... do they want people to keep playing this game?" or do they just like getting the 15.00 each month and don't really care what the players think.
Now,... with that said,... what is your answer to this? What do you think SOE should of done to change things that would of made it a bit better for ALL of us? (Maybe this is something that SOE should asking of it's players)

Prepare for being flamed you may have touched a nerve with the jeedai...
But in answer to your question, they could've converted grenading to heavy weapons XP instead of changing the ratio for those who don't exploit the game. They could've changed the way player's gain FS so it wouldn't be grind for those who don't like the dull tedious grinding of XP. Hell, they could've given us CHs back our animals special abilities without making us grind for weeks trying to get the ones we fight with back up to par. I know some could say I could grind an animal per day. But I'm a casual gamer. Not to mention the fact that I can't stand grinding and I'd rather pvp or do quests but they don't always offer the best scources of XP. In response to those who tell the people who are working their way up to jedi, I have quoted this response:
"People aren't so much complaining about the fact that the grind is hard or long...but rather that they are now going to have it harder than those before them. I've also been here long before the CU and completed 21 professions before the jedi revamp. After taking a long break from the game and having just recently returned, finishing jedi is the only thing left for me to focus on.
Yeah it sucks I missed the bonus xp weeks, yeah it sucks that combat xp is getting sliced due to nade chuckers. I'll finish it regardless, even though it will take me 2x to 10x longer than those before me.
Will I be bitter and #*@% about it along the way? You betcha...not because it takes alot of time or that the grind is hard or boring, but for the fact that my journey will take longer and require much more work than those before me."
That's my main problem, though I think less emphasis should be put on grinding and more should be put on quest based-XP gain, and a lot of bugs that haven't been fixed in months should be fixed instead of adding new light effects for the jedi. Truth is, jedi is the hook that keeps most of the other players paying $15 a month to mindlessly grind up to padawan so they can get killed by some BH on their first day out. But if that hook is what keeps people paying, that's what SOE will do to keep us playing, make the process take more time.

Aww. I don't care if they flame me.. the point is, they would be upset too and I think the Jedi's understand that and I think the current Jedi's could really have a lot of voice in this,.. they have been on this already and could have some good idea's on what to do.

Ummm did you try grinding this before the CU with it taking over 4 hours of grinding to get one combat tree half to max. Did you try the holo grind, or for crying out loud the random professions system. Then you have no clue how hard it was previously. Welcome to the whiner catagory.. and no I am not a jedi. I am a Master Commando, I am a Master Smuggler, and I am an aspiring Pistoleer. Only FS skills I have are to help my friends with quests and for cool decorating items. But I saw these grinds, and their frustration.. you just have to grind. Live with it.

Answer to your questions... Did I try grinding before the CU?.. Yep sure did. and it took about 3 1/2 hours
Did I do the Holo grind? Yep, sure did, I did most of them, all but MD and ID.
And good for you on your prof. I am a Master BH and Master R. (and the point was?)
So, with that in mind,... I do have a "clue" of what it was like and it wasn't all that fun, thank god for marco's... But I noticed you said "I saw these grinds, and there frustration." so, really, you have no clue on what it was like in the past and you are just opening your mouth just to talk... so, thanks for your thoughts and your great idea's,... next.

Point is if you are saying they made it that much harder.. it was a lot harder back then. So there is no reason to say it is harder now. Good for you for going through it all. I applaud that. Hope you enjoy being jedi and all it beings with it. However this new crop saying it is impossible didn't have to go through what you did. I helped more than my share of people go jedi. I have grinded out at least 8 trees myself. never kept 6 at once.. didn't want to get jedi at the time. Still not sure I do.
My point, it is not all that difficult now. It is not as big a pain in the buttocks. It is however longer, more tedious on some people, and might cut down on the jedi population. I severely hope it does so that when we go to take a base we can find a doctor, a squadleader, and a bio-engineer online.
As a disclaimer, I do not want jedi nerfed. The jedi power level is fine if not underpowered IMO. However, their numbers make it so that their power is cut and nonjedi can compete. With very few exceptions I find most jedi to be really nice and helpful. Which is why I really hope this thins out some of the grinders that can't hack it. I feel bad seeing a jedi on the edge of a starport step saying he roxxored someone by killing them before they could load in.
Don't attack me because I asked for your qualifications on your statements. Now that I see them, if I offended I am sorry, but the point still stands.. do you find it easier now.. or then? BTW I also apologize for calling you a whiner.. that brings me down, and I am deeply sorry I responded that way. Everyone deserves respect, and doing that without getting the answers to my questions made not only you look bad but me as well.

Unika, thats no problem what so ever and I do understand what you are saying. Thank you for your post.
I guess the point I am making is SOE has screwed up in this game more times than I can count. I have been with SWG for beta and till now,.. well, I did take a year off and came back about a month ago.. but like I said above,.. you think in the last two years SOE would of learned a fre things in the "Customer Service Area" It just seems like they don't really do much for the players in this game or really care about what people have to say.
I know the the jedi grind was bad and it has gotten a bit better, but come on.. in 2 years, this is how they change it? I can't really cry all that much because like you and the others,... I keep giving SOE my money every month, but on the other hand,.. they really need to sit down and run things by the players first and not just make changes all the time. I can't tell you how many bugs there are in missions, professions, and other areas of the game and it just seems they worry about jedi's than any other area of the game,.. you would think that they would get these other bugs fixed before they put some much worry about the jedi's... Hell, I can recall when jump to lightspeed came out, SOE had SO many bugs in the game that they didn't fix but then they turned around and make the jump to lightspeed exp.. I mean come on... fix what you have before you dump more on the game servers. But anyways,... just my thought I guess,.. It was kinda of a joke that they would change this but on the other hand leave the bugs in the game that have been here forever.

i grinded all my fs post cu, and until i was at the last cap, i didnt realise that grenades did what they did
It saved me like, 30 mins on my last cap
I did my FS in 2 days during 2x (4x if you count village xp being double too) xp, meaning in a spin group, (or a normal group with more effort, as i did) you should be able to get all your fs in 8 days, without nades, if you can stick with it.
On the other hand, once you unlock jedi, no matter how much you grind each day, its still gonna take a month of getting 1mil xp a day to get either full, or very nearly full, template, which, at least from my point of you, completely over shadows the FS grind

Sorry Wayne, not a Jedi..............and everyone can still suck it up. I wrote a great post on reducing ones grind time. Take my advice or leave it. I don't care either way.
