WellI know I'm about to be flamed for this but here it goes anyhow.

I'm in my mid 30's now. I remember when my dad took me to Star Wars back in 77 and I saw Obi-wan fire upthe light saber to give to Luke. I was like mezmerised. Ever since then I've dreamed about becoming aJedi. WhenI herd about SWG coming outI thought here is my chancei can at least fulfill one dream I've always had. How wrongI was.

You knowwho the real people who getJedi now are? Not the true fans who actually remember when those words appeared on the screen"A long time ago in a galaxy far far away." No it's some 13 year old snot nosed brat who plays 1st person shooters and talks smack in the so called l33tspeak. SayingdUdZ I Pwn3d U.

Frankly I sick of this these kids do not realize the honor and prestige that it truly is to be a Jedi. Now thanks to SOE's nerf these are the only type of people who willget Jedi. Not the true fans who know what it means to be jedi. That you don't go around flashing your saber and say look I'm cool I'm a Jedi.I would actually Roleplay my jedi andmost of those my age also would.

You say you spent a few months to become a Jedi. Ha Some of ushave waited 30+ years to get the honor of holding a light saber and playing with our friends in a virtual setting.

Now with the new 30:1 rate they have pushed the bar so far away for those of us who have areal life outside the game. I'm Balancing a 40+ hour a week job plus goingback to college part-time for a second degree.Betweenspending time with mygirlfriend real life friends and family. I have no time to spend 5 hours a day to grind out the jedi I've been working on for over 2 years. Overtime i get close SOE you change the system. Thank You for killing the chance of Real Fans getting Jedi. Yes I know it's still possible but by the time i get close again in another year maybe. They will change the system yet again and set us back further.

Please George for the integrity of your Vision and Dream make Our Dream possible too GodBless you George you've have inspired so many of us. You have no idea of how many life's your films have touched.

Some of you are going to say exactly what you've said in other post Jedi shouldn't be handed to youit should be hardso forth and so on.....

Yes I agree it shouldn't be handed to youit should be hard but at the same time it should be possible for all to achieve if they so desire.Right now the bar is set too high for the causal gamer like me.

I offer this suggestion to the Dev's Create a quest based system entirely to becoming Jedi that is gated at each quest. Have each quest give you a box in the FS branches. After you finish that quest a certain amount of time has to pass irl before you can do your next one. The quest giver could say "You need time to meditate on what you have learned about the Force before you can continue your journey..."

What you would have is 24 quest spread out over a year where you could do 2 quests a month or one every 2 weeks. Of course these time frames to be adjusted to whatever the devs think best.

What does this do?

1. Solves the power gamer vs the causal gamer issue by putting both on the same level.

2. adds actual content to become a Jedi instead of mindless grinding which everyone hates.

3. Will still make the path to jedi difficult and time consuming.

Personally I feel permadeath should be brought back to help control the jedi population or maybe the jedi should lose an actual skill boxes when they die not just experience.

And for all you power grinders out there Get a Life there's so much more to enjoy out there in the world.

Lol..sticky topic there man. I am in my 30's married with 2 kids (wish they were old enough to play and power level me ) andhave played this off and on since launch just because it was Star Wars based. I just unlocked my 2nd branch last night (been out of the game for near 10 months).

So begins my grind.

Granted a lot of the kids in the game have no manners (some do)...but it's a game and there are lots of adults with no manners in here also.

School starts next weekor has started already and a lot of the "snot nosed brats" will be gone till next winter and summer break lol...so get some comfort in that.

Realize though, it is the larger kiddie player base that allows us casual playing old timers to accomplish the harder content in the game...I know most of the these groups of double elite toons and Jedi I sometimes group up with are hardcore powergaming kids and they are facilitating a rapid grind session for meby beingsuch avid players, rude or not.

This will in turn allow me to grind that much faster to Jedi as well...

I saw Star Wars the same year you saw it and loved it also..don't carry your dreams into a game man...it's a game..unless of course you are a developer of the game whose dreams actually create it (Keep on dreaming this sh!t up devs).

Personally, with the exception of the combat xp 30:1 change the grind seems easier than it did 10 months which is why I quit in the first place..I wasn't about to pay $16/month for2+ yearsto play a Jedi toon the devs had said existed since day one and were not made attainable until 6 some odd months after launch. They had gotten 6 months of fees out of me by lying about the product in the first place.

It's just like the real world man...almost everyone serves a purpose, from the common minimum wage nice person to the obscenely rich jerk...find the middle ground you can live with and enjoy it...most of all...remember it's a game and sci fi story........the cash paid to SOE to play gives everyone the same rights and opportunity to play, offend, help or hinder.

I agree, Jedi are supposed to be honorable etc. The Jedi that go around smack talking and such are not truly Jedi to me. There are some who RP the way a Jediwasdepicted in the moviesbut it seems more are into ganking and trash talking.

The village should be totally about completing quests just like a pilot has to complete quests. The only thing is the quests at the village should be more difficult the higher you climb in FS boxes. Three weeks worth of quests for each player, not just one quest and then grind. Grinding just makes a game into a job.

- I'll always miss pre-CU but I still have fun.

Yes it is very possible for the casual gamer to get Jedi, I am proof. I am married, 2 kids, work 50+ hours a week. Most power grinders will have the village done in 15 weeks(min needed to unlock all 6 branches). It took me 25 weeks grinding in the squill cave and Imp Spawn points. I did all mine Pre Cu with Swords/TK and would cap at least 1 time in the time I played. Days I could play longer I would cap 3-4 if I could. Boring as hell yeah but I knew I wanted to go Jedi and what I had to do to get it.

Not sure if you were here before the Combat Upgrade but, Pre Cu you had to do all the damage yourself to get full exp. Now with the CU, all you need is one hit and you have it. CU made grouping pretty much a necessary process now. This means you can bring in exp at a crazy rate. Before CU I would cap 1 sometimes 2 times a buff session (3 hours Norm). Now I cap rifles/pistols/carbines/ a bunch of combat exp on my alt at a crazy pace. It is much easier now than pre CU. The problem many have with the grinders now is that MANY, not all, want the grind to be easier or shorter. Jedi is a goal that is obtainable to anyone... Yes it might take more time to get there for those who do not play every hour of the day,but Jedi is an option, not a requirement. If it is something you really want you will do what you have to do to get it.
