Thread: Help on Melle Defence Quest

Last night I did one phase of sith for the melee defence quest. It was rediculous! THere were at least 30-50 peeps there for the same thing. I only got about 7 kills because of the whole you have to out dps the other groups. Does anyone have any tactics for this mission?

i completed within 2 raids. only needed 11 more pirates after the first. didnt see a big problem with it. just get in a strong group and pound on one and then the next. real easy.

I had the same prob. But really we have 3 weeks, the group will eventually thin.
I created a macro that was /criticalshot %TT that loops, and I click on a member of my group. When that member attacks a baddie, i also attack it. others group members had a similar setup. Helped a bit, but there were a lot of factions there on my server, so until they are done, it may be tougher for other groups to get lots of kills. All in all in 2 hours i think I only got about 5 or 6 kills (spawn problems + small group)
That or just get into the group kicking the most butt...

We had similar issues with the horde of players at each gate. However, we did come upon a strategy. Everyone used ranged weapons. One shooter is the "targeter". The rest targets the targeter. The targeter should be the fellow with the fastest trigger finger. When sith spawn in, everyone in the group starts shooting. Because the majority of the group is targeting the targeter, they will "assist" in shooting HIS target. The consolidated firepower helps the odds of your group outdamaging another group (of course, if they're doing the same kind of thing, it gets trickier). The strategy did pretty well-all of the shooters finished their quest last night in no more than three waves (I'd finished in 2, but I was using a T21, which tends to belt out a lot of damage as it is).

This was and problem over looked by the devs. Pre-CU kill stealing during phase 4 was not and issue cuz of 20 player groups made it kind of like 1 for all for 1.
But now groups must compete with each other for kills.
I saw some non- lvl 80 begging to get in to group (no one would take them cuz they had to compete with other groups of all lvl 80’s)

best thing to do is go late at night or in the middle of the days when there are not many players to compete with

Just did it today. I joined a group and after one wave I was done. Easiest and quickest village quest I have done.

real easy. you should be a high lvl doing this in a good group, and go to the ones your group kills the most. i did it all in 1 wave

i completed it in 1 raid TWICE. melee defense and ranged speed. heres how:
- form a lvl 70-80 8-person group. theres bound to be ppl needing a group and invite em fast. Jedi are good but not needed.
- dont go to the main gate, lots of big groups there. use common sense. go to the south gate or a different gate. several sith spawn at the north and south gate. one is usually far more camped than the other.
- use area attacks on all the sith and hit em as hard as u can. everybody in my group this phase completed it except one because i think he crashed.

Okay i just did the questtoday it took me about 20 mins or so todo it so long you have a good group.I use my sword and got 5 kills it was to slow becasue there were 5 are 6 player there that had melee too.So i start with my rilfe and then i was done with it.So just get a good group and shoot like hell at them.
