Thread: Bug phase 3 did it's job: didn't get pase 3 unlock. Oh well, I will become Jedi eventually

Well, the bugs in phase 3 escort mission actually did their job: I did not get my unlock so far, and won't bother the last few days before phase shift.
Why? Well, camping for hours and hours, or getting up at 5 in the morning as some players have is not my idea of fun. Nor of community. After day 3 or so into phase 3 people became very aggressive and not very helpful.
I tried a few times, had some help, we came quite far, but never succeeded. Oh well.
But I do know, I will become Jedi eventually, I don't care how much missions are nerfed or bugged, it will happen at some point. What are 3 weeks more or less.
Don't get me wrong, I *don't mind* grinding, that goes quite fast nevertheless. And therefore I don't understand the compat xp conversion change. So a few peeps use nades. And? Not all do. Nades are expensive or unavailable on some servers. Change the nade xp instead, I say. This will not keep people from becoming Jedi.

*If u offer players the chance to become Jedi, many will want to take this up*!! It is after all a cool hero class that many people want to play. And it is not the same as in KOTOR2 or whatever. If everyone feels that SWG is swarming of Jedi, give the Jedi "something to do", a peacekeeper mission, or bonus xp for helping newbies, I don't know.

Personally, I don't even need to become Jedi Master. As long as I can hold that glowy stick - lol!

And considering that Luke Skywalker held and ignited a lightsaber as non-Jedi, why not give this opportunity to all that are interested? Of course worthless in battle as such, but this way many can experience this and perhaps they might think "Nah, this is nothing after all".

Some day, I know, I will become Jedi. And many others as well. Live with it, enhance & make it more fun for *all* or remove this hero class completly.
Just me rambling.

Dude, there was NO REASON for you to fail that mission. I participated in AT LEAST NINE successful groups in this Phase 3. If the mission is bugged, it's bugged in OUR FAVOR. How?

1) I hit the Sith patrols around the base closest to the Village until I got a matching shield shutdown emitter. While some believe and have testified that this mission is doable from farther bases, I wouldn't risk it.

2) If you don't have the ranged arms to whack the turrets, USE A PET OR DROID. The turrets WILL NOT aggro pets or droids. And get a load of this, pets and droids will travel thru the walls of the base to hit the 3rd turret.

3) Take down the shields w/ the emitter.

4) EVERYONE hit the front gate, and RUN INSIDE THE BASE! Immediately hit the antenna on your way to the back of the base. Blast the back gate.

5) Now, FROM INSIDE the base, have someone who's either already completed the mission, or doesn't have the mission, aggro one Sith at a time and have the shield buster participate in 5 kills.

6) Now, at this point, the Sith Leader will spawn. To get the full reward (including the Mind Crystal), have someone OTHER THAN the shield buster capture the Sith Leader.

7) WAIT INSIDE THE BASE FOR A MINUTE OR TWO FOR THE SITH OUTSIDE TO DESPAWN. It's WELL worth the sacrifice of a few minutes to be able to waltz outside the base unopposed.

8)WALK the 10 waypoint route from the closest base to the Village as has been posted elsewhere.

9) To keep the Sith commander from EVER running from the capturer, get an overhead view of your character, and move the field of view slider to the farright to get a satelite view of your character. At this point you should target the Sith commander and spam `2 on him to bring up the radial menu and tell him to follow incessantly.

10) The capturing player should unequiphis weapon and havethe group run interference for him.

11) Use the terrain grapics on your radar to STICK TO THE LOWEST POINTS on the 10 point route.

Trust someone who has done this almost 10 times successfully in the 1st 2 weeks of this past Phase 3: you follow my suggestions and with a party of even 3 lvl 80 characters you should waltz thru this mission with from half an hour to 15 minutes left to spare.

well, I am not saying I am happy. And I didn't give up lightly. But 20 hours of my life for a bugged mission... Tried some more since this thread actually, but it didn't work out
And as I said, I don't mind "doing" something to become Jedi (e.g. the grinding). "Unfortunately" I was on vacation nearly 2 weeks during this phase as well, so there flies time....

BTW, the trick with the droids/pets didn't work. They got killed... Saw another group at one camp and it didn't work for them either.

Wow, I'm shocked the pet trick didn't work for you. Either Radiant has a different set of rules, OR the Devs read the post and fixed things.

The turrets are bugged anyway, as has been repeatedly stated. Once I never even got w/in 80m of the turrets and they started hitting me. I tried running, against a previous poster's advice, but even at an incredible range and no LOS, the turrets pounded me to death. I guess the 2 range increasing arms are your best bet and PRAY the turrets don't aggro you before the 80m mark.

Also, Green, if I had a character on your server, I'd show up to support you, but I don't think I have a toon on your server on ANY of my accounts.
