I've been reading about these changes and how FS are getting the 'shaft' i myself have been playing well over 2 years and have only now neared the end of my FS grind I will unlock on November 10th, but due to circumstances may not be able to complete the trials etc. even if the old man did turn up.
I will admit i am feeling like throwing something through the window, because all i can see is the last 'x' amount of months have led me to nothing, i am so close yet i will receive nothing from my attempts to unlock. I'm not one for ranting or flaming on here, i don't think it serves any purpose when a simple conversation is much more productive. I as many others here feel rejected by SOE and the devs that our efforts are not going to be recognized as they were by the holo grinders. Yes we can respec, but im sure to many of us who are so close that the Elder tag means more than just a sensless grind, it would show we were more than just respec jedi.
It would show that we earned the title just as much as holo grinders and the village grinders that completed on time. I know there must be a solution to this problem, it is unreasonable to ask us to lay down and surrender what we have done over many months.
There must of course be a line drawn between those only just starting the FS grind and those who are near the end of a long journey to unlock. There must be a way that the devs can instill a little order back to the FS grind for those who are so close whether it be a token respec to get the lowest lvl of jedi or double xp to help people grind.
So to the devs i must implore you, please find a way to reward myself and others like me who are maybe only1-2 weeks to maybe a month away from unlocking, we practically made it, im sure if this had been mentioned earlier we would have grinded harder, i knew i would. But we felt like we had all the time in the world, and that has been taken from us...
I'm sure many others feel the same way but don't know what to post. So for those that don't know what to say, this is a request from all of us asking for a little respect for what we have so very nearly achieved.

Just thinking again, and i know that some will disagree with this, but is there no way that the Devs could change the phases sooner than expected to give us a chance?
I know some will maybe not have completed the phases alreeady so not sure how such a thing would be best implimented but at least those that can get the xp would have the chance of the Old Man visit.
Anyones thoughts?

Well with all the complains going on, im pretty damn sure the DEV's will do something. Trust me, they see exactly what we are doing, and they know how much it will affect us. They will lose way too many people if they reward us with NOTHING. We put in hard earned months...Playing sometimes HOURS and HOURS each day, for what?? For us to be able to respec just like someone who was a Master Pikeman??? I will be happy if they gave me a character slot. I would even be happy if they said our points would count towards the new Jedi Profession...SOMETHING, just give me SOMETHING!

Why cant they just open all the phases at once? Only the people that are actually close in Xp would make it that way..... I know it might not be the best idea in the world but it sure would make some ppl happy

I understand you guys are pissed, i might not wholeheartedly agree with why your pissed but at least think about it from their perspective...
my point is almost exactly what is going through their heads, they cant give special treatment unless something makes the person special, in the current case...completed FS grinders with the jedi box...and in progress FS grinders with no jedi box...big difference right? Its black and white there. No variables whatsoever, you either have it or you dont.
now lets take a look at the FS grinders....
Say they did extend it until lets see...november 25th should give all involved ample time to finish it.
There are too many classifications of force grinders to please them all, you've got your grinder who has 2 unlocks...but has ground all the xp...shouldn't he be considered as good as you? you've ground all xp havent you? See there is no difference between you so how could you pick who to give the reward too, its a grey area.
Then there are those who have all the unlocks but not enough xp...they put in all the time you have with the quests, but they havent ground as hard...they can also argue they are as good as you because of the time sink, they can also bring reasons to the table citing their lives outside of the game, responsibilities, and other things that kept them from making this deadline...yet again, another grey area where you can see both sides of the argument.
and then theres thesecond unlock no xp grinder...if you give the grinder with 2 unlocks the go-ahead to become an elder he can whine and complain because he has technically also put in the same amount of time at the village as the 1-2 unlocks but all xp ground FSer.
There are just too many variables, thats why it isnt full temp jedi above grinding jedi....there are just too many people out there who can't be made happy either way so they have to cut it down the only black and white area in the whole process...yeah it sucks...but life sucks too.
thats why you will not be considered elders, if you can make the deadline great! ill welcome you with open arms, but if you dont...and you whine to me about how close you were...well...i've got my /add ignore list waiting for you.

I have banked all the FS XP needed. I have unlocked 5 skills I only require the remaining unlock. But what if the old man does not come to let me start the trials? What if I do not complete that "magic first jedai box"? I am extreamily disturbed by this. I spent 5 months working on FS to get my Jedai. If I don't get it in time because of thier timing, that will be it. You can ask anyone. I have been the most supportive and patient of any customer they have had. This will not stand.

How can you draw a line? Say you drew it at 3 months left to unlock, then the people at 2 months 28 days would EXPLODE with anger, while you sit and are happy saying cry more? How is that any more fair then whats already been proposed. I've already seen threads saying "i unlock in january, just leave the village on until then but after that its ok to close it" real mature, that old swg sterotypical mindset...dont do it if it will effect me, but if it doesnt, im all for it.
You do get your gift, it is the entire reason you come to these forums every day, you get to play a jedi weeks and in some cases months before you would have before...do you not want it now that everybody can have it? That makes little sense to me but whatever....in the immortal words of both these and the jedi forums...
Nobody made you go for jedi, you chose to put the time in, now live with what you got

I see your point Rakov and it makes perfect sense. Nevermind the bad timing, the lack of concern, all the other bad points about SOE and this change, I would really like to see SOE show a little bit of gratitude snd understanding towards the FSers. Give us something to shoe they understand what we are losing and sympathize. Whatever it i the enitre whole will not be satisfied, but for them to at least make the effort would go a long way with me. I myself have one unlock left but my server wont phase shift until 12th. So please give us a chance to fnish what we started.
