Sorry if this has been posted, but I DID try searching and couldnt really find anything that answered this question.

The situation:

I have 1 more line left to grind (yay me!) til I have my 6 fsbranches filled. However I have no fs branches unlocked. I want to continue grinding fs xp (combat) so that when phase 1 comes around again, I can do the easy phase 1 combat mission and just train up all the boxes and be done.

The question:

As I understand it, since I have 3 other lines trained up in FS combat tree, I should be able to have a cap of 900,000 FS combat xp. My dilemma is, if I grind out and cap off my FS combat xp, THEN unlock the phase 1 FS combat branch (ranged accuracy-yeah I know it wont do me any good, but I just want to be DONE), THEN train the first skill box, will I keep the other 725,000 FS combat xp? or will it do that crap where it cuts it off to the cap for that box (350,000)? I'd really not like to invest the time to get the additional 400,000 fs combat xp only to have it disappear on me.

Any info would be a BIG help, and sorry again if this has been answered.

once you have atleast branch opened you can stockpile 1.25mil FS xp in each of the sences I am in much the same boat ATM I have 1.25mil FS combat and 1.25mil FS reflex xp and i need the next phase to open one of these then another 12 weeks to open the next one as the ones i want are both Phase 1 missions rewards.

Cool. But any idea on if you DONT have the branch unlocked? Is my xp going to reset?

Okay thanks Maelorn, that sounds like just what I needed to know.

And yeah Ripper, you're right, I just totally misled you in that paragraph. It should have read "I dont have THAT PARTICULAR branch unlocked" not "I dont have any" or whatever I said. I just finished training the last box of my 5th full fs branch (3 free unlocks).

With my unlocks, I got both ranged and melee defense (the phase 4 combat quests) so I'm pretty much just grinding til I can unlock my 6th, and final branch. I just wanted to make sure that if I stockpiled 900k (or more) FS combat xp, THEN went and unlocked the phase 1 combat branch, that the xp I stockpiled wouldnt go POOF as happens when you drop ordinary skills and then retrain them with an excess of xp. I'm hoping to be able to do the phase 1 quest, then immediately train ALL the boxes in that line, and get on with the exit quest and the Paddy trials.

too my knowledge it dont cap, i know poeple who have had 5mil+at 1 time and didnt loose it
