Force Sensitive Archive

I completed the first crafting mastery quest and recieved the statue reward for it. But instead of getting the novice box unlocked it unlocked the repair branch instead. My crystal still shows the quest as incomplete but i cant talk to the cheif engineer of even the gadget shop guys anymore. Is this a bug or is there some other way to unlock the crafing mastery novice box?
