Thread: Glowy in a week
One can go from getting of the shuttle to glowy within a matter of days.
One way this could be changed is for a character not to have access to all the badges at once. Instead after the first month a character is built, that character is allowed access to a certain number of badges, lets say 5 after the first month. Each month after, a character is allowed access to more badges. Once a character reaches 3 months they are allowed access to all badges. This solves the problem with people becoming glowy too fast. As well as give a new player time to adjust to the game. This would also give the new player time to build their character. If they were going for combat, they could have CL 80 by the time they were glowing, that way they can actually solo the Sith that come with the Old Man.
It's just an idea, but what do you guys think?

good ideas
Im gonna go out on a limb here but, i'd rather see more quests involved with becoming FS. it would add content to the game as well as new prerequisits to get the glow. make the quests only acsessable in phases, just like the village.
just my two creds
They need to reimplement some incentives not to be a Jedi. As it stands, Jedi have all the advantages (and they'll try desperately to convince everyone that they don't.) They get a free character slot, they make their own weapons, they don't wear armor. Each Jedi is like a void in the player economy. All they have to worry about is the occassional Bounty Hunter (and full templates have NOTHING to worry about.)
Reimplement skill box loss on death. PvP death as well as BH death. Maybe they won't be so ready to jump into every PvP battle. Bring back saber TEF.
I don't mind Jedi being powerful. I don't mind them being plentiful. But they are BOTH and that is the problem. Making it take longer to achieve isn't the answer to there being so many right now. Make Jedi a much more difficult experience. Skill box loss on death, experience loss for not playing. Make it a lot more hardcore.
I don't see this as a big deal at all. I know to the non-FS player that glowie sounds like a great accomplishment, but it really doesn't change anything. They may get glowie with little effort, but the glow alone doesn't grant any additional abilities. It takes weeks to even get the first benefit from being force sensitive, and that's only with hard work. Glowing is just a neat little title. It's also important to note that when you use the /che command, it says "You feel an inner glow, the force is with you". It doesn't say something like "The Force is your ally and won't let you down " or "The force fights with you". It just alludes to a potential, it doesn't say you are force adept.
No big deal.
The number of glowers just doesn't matter. The long and boring village process will weed out the ones who don't want to put in the work.

I dunno, I don't think the problem is the number of people BECOMING Jedi. Even with hologrinding, not *everyone* wanted to go Jedi, because it was so difficult to BE one.

If it takes longer to become Jedi then im sure it will discourage some to not go after it. And after implementing some of the stuff your talkin about then it would be more hazardous to play as a Jedi. It would take the journey twice as long as it would now, and if you're not careful you could lose it within a matter of minutes.

Basically who cares? U all pay the same amount per toon everyoneh as the right to be glowy and a jedi
Everybody has the right but it doesnt mean everyone will. Im not saying to have a set limit. Im just saying discouraging the profession might be the best way to solve things. And if it takes longer than a few weeks to get glowie then it may help things.
