Force Sensitive Archive

Hey i destroyed the sith shadow camp but one of the members in my group forgot to turn off his autoloot macro and looted the datapad instead of me. Do i have to start all over again becausethe quest journal updatedthat i investigated the camp but it says that i havnt destroyed the sith and found out where they came from because my friend has the datapad. I still have the wp for the camp. We tried to trade the datapad but it didnt work and he tried dropping it into my house and that didnt work either. Any suggestions?
