I've done the 10 standard patrols, do i need to do the 8 extra to get the reward as i havent recieved anything.

check the stickies. but yes you have to do 10 more fora reward.

And it will take you a couple hours to do the last 10, but worth the banner, whether you plan to display it or sell it for a couple mil.
