Thread: Devs ARE fixing the Mellichae quest
Honestly it doesn't matter to me when they fix this quest because without being able to grind it's kinda a waste of time to even unlock. I'm not going to bother to unlock until jedi are able to grind xp out. I don't want to be like my friend who just unlocked a week ago and cannot play at all because there is nothing he can grind and he is too afraid to die to do anything else.

Just spoke with CSR-JacobC, said that the devs are working hard on this quest
Jedi cannot be levelled in any rewarding fashion right now. Jedi's PvE experience is totally borked. I'd recommend getting to Initiate once this Mellichae garbage is resolved, then shelving your Jedi character (i.e. don't do the Padawan trials) until the game is once again a game for Jedi, and not whatever farce of a "game" the Devs claim this is right now.
Seriously, Jedi levelling is just plain stupid. The very, very, VERY last thing any new Jedi should do is die while dealing with this broken system. Negative xp while an Initiate is VERY bad, and I just want to prevent you new Jedi from having a very rough go right from the start.
I am not logging my Jedi in (couple branches in sabers, some Healer and Enhancer) until this grinding debacle gets resolved, because right now the Devs should be ashamed of themselves for putting this Jedi situation into Live. It is unacceptable, and in no way resembles fun.
The inherent problem (which the Devs definitely know about but have done nothing to fix thus far) is your NON-JEDI SKILLS. They factor into your combat level. You become a Level 67, for example. But you're using your lightsaber for Jedi xp, right? Right. Except you're very low in Jedi skills - so you don't have much moves for your saber. So, you attack a lower level creature that you can actually do damage to - and get ZERO xp. Then you decide to take on something that's your combat level, right? Wrong. This thing will CREAM YOU good. I mean, it will chew you up and spit you out. Your saber abilities are far too low to take on such creatures. The problem is that equipping a lightsaber doesn't resolve the combat level of creatures, instead your total skills affect your level. Again, the Devs were told about this repeatedly, and there's been squat done.
Don't get negative xp at Initiate, don't bother becoming a Padawan (bounty hunters after you is an even worse situation) until the Devs do what they should've done before this tripe got pushed to Live - MAKE JEDI PLAYABLE.
I hope this post helps just one Padawan, because this is all simply inexcusable, and the Devs should be embarrassed for what they pushed to Live.

I ggot to echo what Malice said. Fixing Mel will be good for those who just made the cusp of jedi. The rest of us (ill define us as having 2-24 boxes to grind) are screwed even if the switch mel to a 5 year old girl alone in the woods with only a red hood and a combat picnic basket.
lol this made me laugh, I'd love to see that ![]()
Honestly though for me this is the best bit of news I have heard about the CU, guess it might sound kind of selfish but at the moment, after all I went through, I just want to get this done. After Mel I will be prepared to test their game, I certainly won't be rushing through my padawan trials I'll wait till they fix Jedi grinding for that. But fix Mel and you will have one (slightly) more contented beta tester

I saw someone post saying you should fight mobs your level, hit them once with your saber then switch up to your normal elite weapon of choice and get the full xp....any truth to that?

I'll give this a shot tonight and see what becomes of it. Thanks!

Totally agree with Warryyr. His post is spot on. The CU is 2 Days old....My Jedi is 1 Day old. Cannot do anything with the toon. The old system atleast took into account what weapon you were equipped with and dealt you missions accordingly.
You have helped save one Padawan mate....and I thank you
Build yourself a little Jedi shack, hide in the darkest corner, and go Kenobi-style for awhile until things look better.
What drives me nuts the most is that as a newbie Jedi, having just got your robes, anything you can kill efficiently with your saber yields no xp. It's literally almost impossible to level up...unless you group up with friends who will help you take down the thing - you just need 1 hit with a saber for full xp. And you can bet that BH's will be stumbling all over themselves to gank a newbie Jedi on the terminals. And, nobody can help you. And it's 5 on 1, with the blessing of the Devs.
I dunno, this game has issues...all of which were horribly compounded by the half-arsed attempt at the CU.
I just want to finish the village.
Let's hope they fix Melliachae by Sunday. I will then retire my Jedi Initiate and wait for the Dev'd to fix the Jedi XP system.
I don't ever want to return to that art of Dathomir ever again. Frankly I have had enough of Dathomir. Time to explore Endor.

Doubt it will work. Pre Cu I did this when in trouble with some mobs. They would be at around 1/4 health remaining and im out of force while I was using my saber. Id switch to my Knuckler and finish them off and only get unarmed exp no jedi exp.
