Not true. I converted some combat xp to FS xp after the CU. Unless they changed something since my last trip to the village.

I dont think it is possible to get 5k combat xp per kill but you can get 5k weapons xp per kill easily
No the only thing about combat xp now is that the old grenade grinding on baz nitch method is no more. The speed on grenades made sure of that. It is so high that the DPS is just too low. Besides, no way of tanking against a whole lair of baz nitches now at one time.
Combat xp can still be attained, just not at 5k at a time.
i went into a group, and got just over 4k combat xp from level 80 piket with one grenade....
seems all you can do is throw 1 grenade and wait, if u hit them with anything else it halfs the xp ex.2000 pistols xp 2000 combat xp
if your in a big skilled group you could just stand there throwing nades every minute
if u throw it at a large mob that is attacking ur group u could get area hit - maybe 4xcombat xp a minute
still can use nades but with weapons aswell
