You were way off....its being a DEV. Yep, thats right, they are the people who "fix" things that dont need to be "fixed" and make us waste time and money playin to do FS grind. Nothing is easier than sitting back on a leather recliner swivel chair and sippin a cappachino. Occasionally they will type in a few lines of code, but then they spill the coffee on the keyboard and it **edit**s up the code somehow, and then they hit save..."my work here is done". I mean seriously devs, these forums are here for you guys to get feedback from us and you just don't give a rat's a** about what we, paying customers, think. I mean damn, even a 20:1 ratio on combat conversion is better than 30:1 why not atleast lowering it a little bit. Also, to anyone who is going to say "well you don't have to FS grind, blah blah blah..." I don't want to FS, I just want to use the damn saber and powers. Why can't the Devs bring back perma death or something to discourage peoplefrom being a jedi, the FS grind is COMPLETELY POINTLESS. If you DEV are not going to utilize what people say in these forums, then you might aswell take them offline. Its not hard to read some well constructed ideas on these boards, not hard at all.

I have to agree in many ways. I think the FS grind is hands down the worst quality of gameplay available in an MMORPG todate. Hell crafting in DAOC was more exciting. Endlessly grinding to gain FS powers is just plain stupid and not at all consistent with the canon of the stories.

I am sure it would be a massive amount of work to make the path to Jedi entirely quest driven, but that is what is needed. The whole thing should be quests, dozens and dozens of them - and as much as possible should be randomized to ensure that each person must approach it on their own, not with a printout from some handy website that describes the whole thing. It should be geared to their CL, so even a crafter can do it potentially and it should make the player make conscious moral decisions that define which path they end up taking - to the Dark or Light side of the Force. Similiarly the path through Jedi should be structured the same way. In fact, the path through FS *should* be the path to Jedi, no need to do one to qualify, then one to actually become a Jedi.

Its very badly implemented, just as it was badly implemented in the past. The whole thing smacks of nothing more than the marketing department dictating to development that the main feature of getting Jedi is that it absolutely must force you to renew your subscription several times. But then much of the game design seems dictated by the marketing department - or by someone else equally clueless about game design and what players would like - and badly at that.

I find it extremely boring to grind.. thats why i choose not to go that path. Maybe i change my mind one day.. i got all unlocks i need from village, just not the xp.

It would be totaly different if it was all a quest path to Jedi.

But.. theres always a but.. not to the quest way but the work to implement it correctly. Look at how kotor works. All mettings with characters impact your path.

Thats the way i would want it.. hey i want lots of things.. but i dont expect to get them.. its merely a nice thought.
