Yes you can and you will get the same xp as using any other grenade type but, it's ging to take you much longer. If you're really strapped for credits then I would try to find somone that will sell you Max Damage Powerups for the C12's kinda cheap. Just using C12's is going to take you a very long time to clear the nest.

You bet you can. I don't recommend doing it unless you are master in a melee with good defense. I tried it with MD/Master Rifle and got beaten around pretty badly. Also the mobs that used dizzy kept me on the ground a lot. Or I ended up burning blue bar just healing my states.
Guildie did 4 trees using C12's. He had TKM and Fencer. Just took longer. 30 mins per lair versus 5-10 with Thermals.

The low damage that c12's deliver will leave you exhausted after one buff session. It takes forever to even kill quenkers, as I have used them to gain combat xp for mastering swordsman. I highly recommend going commando to ease the pain.

Yeah you can do it and its not all that bad. I did 3 entire trees in 3wks with just c-12's. Doing biz natches on Dath I could gain 150k fs xp per buff or there about. Sometimes abit more or less. Its mind numbing but more than possible. Key is to get 2 misson on Biz Natches (reg kind, not the bigger ones) in the same direction. Clear 1st spawn, move to next mission. rinse/wash/repeat. I found that I could get 3 full spawns per lair + the xp for destroying the lair. You could try bigger natches but I found that they took to long and beat me up to badly to make it viable. I was MBH/MCH so had very little melee defense.
I did not want to take the time to get 4000 commando but if you do have it...by all mean get it. This method is more than viable but about 4 times or more slower than having the use of larger damage nades. Either way its a hell of alot faster than not using nades.
Hope that helps.

I had no problem using C12s (with Max Damage powerups, of course). I'd finish up a GBN lair in less than 15 minutes, 6 of them in 1.5 hours, capping my Combat XP. 2 hours total to cap and make the Village run to convert. I even managed two caps in one buff once (it was a very long duration buff). That gave me about 107k FS XP.
Trick is to have Feign Death and Master Fencer (and I had TKM as well). I'd hit the lair once or twice, then FD. Once the entire second wave has spawned, stand up. They will all agro, not just 5. Use Center of Being to keep you and your armor from being pounded to death by the mobs while you chuck C12s at the lair. Refresh CoB after every 4 throws. After 4 full C12's, kill the rest with Health directed hits to minimize weapon damage to maximize Combat XP.
I'd just kill the third spawn with my weapon, as I didn't want to waste C12s on just 5 critters. If you kill only 4 of the last spawn, you can run away about 500m wait a few seconds (or go do your second mission), then come back to another full lair to do it again.

Yeah DrWolf makes a great point I forgot... A must have are the max damage nade pups. Try to find 33% if possible but I went as low as 31% when my source dried up. Makes a huge difference.
Also you can agro all the mobs without using FD if you dont have it. Attack lair, get it spawning. You will have 5 mobs agro on you to start. As the others spawn, equip a non cert weapon (I used a sword since I was pure ranged) hit the mobs as they spawn from lair. You will take more damage using this method but this way you can agro all the spawns at once. Once you have all mobs agro, switch back to your main weapon as you gain more xp for this or I did by having my pistol in hand ( I tried this with my pistols/carbs/LLC and pistol netted me about 700-1k more combat xp per kill) Then stand in lair and toss grenades at it. Kill off as many with nades then use a health ham attack to get your max xp. If I remember right I was gettin about 4k per biz natch and 4.5k for the other type that spawns from a reg lair.
Also I was gettin missions with my pets at level 57 I think it was. The higher the mission of course the more creatures per spawn. Solo grouping would get you higher I imagine. I would just group my pets and park them at the science outpost so they did not get in my way.
Have any question feel free to ask

Interesting thing about C-12 grenades. No mods for them. So what you see is what you get.
Here is an idea devs. Include mods for the C-12 in the ranged support line of marksman. Make ranged support worth getting.
