i definately think the CU will slow people down. First, I am almost positive that the CU will end or significantly impede the grenade grind. Also, you have to take into account that under the current system on TC (granted it may change) it is somewhat difficult to find things that give good xp if you have a fully developed combat templete. On TC I am a master BH, master Smuggler. I have a combat level of 80. This means that I have to fight mobs that are in the lvl 76+ range and let me tell you they are not easy to find. Almost every single creature on dathomir cons gray to me, meaning it is significantly below my level. You only get a few xp points for these things and when I say few, I mean it. Its like 1-100 xp. I finally found a group of rancors. They were level 77 and con green to me. I was able to kill them but again I did not get full xp for this, and they were a major pain to take out cause my action ran out quickly. It was a very long fight for only a moderate amount of xp. The only thing I found that was at my level was a few kliknik warriors on yavin. They were level 80 also. But there was 4 of them and they kicked my ass right quick. I had to feign death. So yeah, imo the CU will DEFINATELY slow people down.

All you,"not being able to solo anything anymore" whiners take note of that highlighted bit! LOL

Yep, based on current TC results, unless they bump up the experience gained from killin mobs closer but still under your combat level, the FS grind is going to be one big, fat, ugly B!TCH.

This will have to change, or the xp coversion, or something. I have not been grinding, I have been outplay'nmy Ranger, makeing camo kits and what not, hunting with no doc buff, just a bit of brandy and my tk. I know as it is now I cry when I have to take out mobs that con white to me for a certain resorces for kits, cause I only get around 1000 xp for each one. I am sure they will make it better. From testing JTL, I know nothing is written in stone, even after launch, so I wouldn't put to much stock in 'how' it is now. Yes criticize what ya don't like, but don't flame and don't threaten to quit the game, I know that that type of attitude will not be listened to.

despite the fact that i am a post pub 9 jedi, i dislike the village system, way too easy. the amount of jedi is getting ridiculous now, even very casual gamers can get jedi relativly fast theese days? (saying this, i am a powergamer)

I honestly dont think this will change very much. They have said that con gray mobs will give very minimal xp because they are far beneath you. Being as the CU is a direct copy of EQ2 (where gray mobs give NO xp) I think this will stay more or less as is.

The grenade grind is definitely over. I don't think xp will be that hard to get either once people actually play all the planets and find out what to kill for the best xp,it's just going to be a few weeks for everyone to figure out what they need to kill but it will eventually all be back to normal. I tried the CU test center today with my current characters master rifle and was killing things reasonably well,I hate not having a combat queue though.

With the CU hitting live in less than a month, I've been seeing a lot of incessant whining about these forums. Mind you, I'm a bounty hunter and could care less about becoming a jedi, but I find it interesting the sort of topics coming up on here. Best to know your enemy, as they say.

I would like to inquire, however, as to what you think of the current FS system. Unlocking 6 branches, grinding them all out. It's like a grow-your-own jedi. I think the current system is pitifully inadequate. I've seen a number of people wait 18 weeks to unlock the branches, and then in less than a week grind out all the experience they needed. They're all clones of a system made to occupy you until the devs could think of something new to hold your attention. I hope the CU really does slow down the rate at which the current players are grinding FS XP, and I hope it helps control the jedi population.

Do you think when the CU hits, the village will be more in tune with how the devs meant it to be, or do you think it's hard enough as it is?
