Thread: FS and the respec

As of right now we wont be able to respec our skills. Anyone know why or if this will change. This really sucks and is not fair for us. Currently jedi and regular skills can be traded not taking into reguard xp spent on getting them but the same is not so for us. We deserve a skill respec on a one for one basis like the rest of the professions out there.

I have to disagree with you. I dont think we do need a skill respec. My understanding is the reason Jedi are getting it (and correct me if I am wrong) is because certian skills they currently hold (saber block, force armor) are moving around to different skill trees. They are being given the opportunity to regain those lost skills.

There is no changes that i am aware of in FS branches. Ranged Accuracy bounses are not being moved to vehicular control so their is no need for a respec. Also we are well aware of what we are unlocking. Unless you randomly go up to an npc and do the quest without looking at a board or talking to a friend there is no need for a respec. Remeber we are in a limbo state, working toward Jedi, You will get your respec for your current proffession.

True but rember that all the pre 9 people had 0 clue what they were chooseing. they picked whatever looked neat and later found out that half of what they picked did jack for them. other post 10 jedi picked lines that might help their jedi but realy it was whatever looked intresting as well sence few helped a jedi. Now some lines that previously had no effect may help jedi and others may be useless to jedi. I think they realy should alow a respec although I'd probably go with the same ones I have now although I'd probably dump ranged speed (didnt know it was borked and I was grinding as a rifleman at the time)

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

It's been said that the ranged speed will help with Powers.

In Songouki's CU for jedi alot of FS skills are supposed to work now. The Ranged branch is supposed to work for powers, Melee accuracy and speed are supposed to work for jedi better now. So I feel they should let us respec our FS skills.

why should they let us respec skills?

the only thing I see it doing is letting people skip phases:

oh, I already unlocked the phase 1 2 3 4 so I'll respec a couple of the branches I already unlocked into branches I haven't unlocked yet...then just work on exp to fill the 2 branches that are unlocked already...

Here is one reason. I made the decision to buy some FS boxes based on having some skill points left over after TKM and Master Doc. With the addition of a brawler branch to TKM, the new "cost" of TKM will put me negative for skill points at the CURB. The only way the CURBconversion couldcorrect this negative skill point balanceiseitherrecovering SPs by dropping FS boxes (no way if there is no xp recovery), or a forceddrop of existing TKM or doc skills (stinks since there are decided advantages to master in both professions).

In my case, I decided I might as well drop doc now and just make a double combat prof.Ioffer the above as an example of why FS respec might be considered. I'm sure others are in the same boat

This is a good point. So why not make it so that either A) you can only respec into skills that you have unlocked or B) if you respec from a branch into a branch that you have not unlocked you have to reopen the other one.

The reason that people get a respec is because earlier skills were broken that they may have picked if not for the fact that they didnt work, and now they work so they should get them. This was pointed out to the BH's by Tanks, also heard it on the Commando boards.

Not only that, but it is kinda odd that EVERY combat prof in the game gets a respec but us. So what if people took melee speed and accuracy for their melee toon, but now want to be range? Should'nt they get to respec their FS skills.

And to the guy talking about range speed helping powers, I heard it was only range accuracy that helps powers. Could be mistaken onthis though.
