Ok, I figured that people knew about these tricks, but appearantly most don't, so I will post the two tricks that make this quest a little easier (not game-breaking easier, either).

Trick 1) Use droids and/or pets to destroy the turrets and gates. Simply stay far enough back (I think it's like 100m or so) so the turrets don't fire on you. The droids and pets can go through the shield and attack both without gaining any aggro (This may change with publish 20, so this may not work in another week). After you destroy the turrets, start working on the gates. Once the gates are down, drop the shields, you now don't have to worry about destroying the gates in the 10 seconds before all those Sith Thugs come.

Trick 2) Have someone or a droid/pet follow the commander as you escort him back (I mean the command /follow, not just walking behind him). I noticed that the commander doesn't run away if he is being followed, and doesn't seem to stop either (provided that the person doing the escort doesn't go out of range of him). You still need to walk, not run, him back, but it saves time from having to turn around to recapture him. I even noticed that it seems that he walks faster when being followed as well, but maybe that was just me being happy that he wasn't stopping.

Hopefully this will help many of you complete this oh so buggy quest this phase. Enjoy!

lol! Really, I posted it because of three factors.

1) This isn't game-breaking, you still have to fight the Sith, and you still have to escort the commander back, and random sith will still attack you on the escort part. These tricks make the quest SLIGHTLY easier, but by no means do they simplygive you an instant win button.

2) As mention in my original post, in publish 20, droid and pet aggro ranges are going to be changed. Therefore in a week, there is a very good chance that, even if you still can have the droids and pets attack from that distance, that the turrets may start to aggro them as well, but who knows, I hope someone tries this after pub 20 and posts the results.

3) The commander is supposed to keep up with you. Pre-cu, he would run when you ran, he actually kept up and you could actually escort him back to the village from that base right by the Nightsister Stronghold. He currently, even while being followed, still will not run or keep up with you unless you walk. So even the /follow trick is worse than what he is SUPPOSED to do.
