Thread: Phase 3 Melee Accuracy done on Intrepid!
That was the most gut-wrenching thing i've ever done in this game. It is NOT to be done without a good group. I got through it with a team of 2, but only because some jerk tried to steal my commander, ran in, got mobbed, and allowed me to run in and out with only 3 sith on my tail.
If anyone wants details and a little advice, i'll post later. Right now i'm gonna go have a heart attack.

CLOSEST: alpha
2nd CLOSEST: nu (this is the one i did)
3rd CLOSEST: epsilon
1) The shield code.
First, you have to know what the 3 closest bases are on your server. Any other shield code is useless.
Loot as many as possible before heading back to the Captain, 10 would be ideal. 25 bases, 3 possible bases, means that statistically 1 of the 10 will be useable.
Also note that the sith drop these useless waypoint disks for some reason, don't confuse these with the sheild disks.
2) Turrets
The turrets wont start firing on you till you're about 75m away, but once they do, they will keep firing on you up to 1000m away, so running is no good. Thing is, sometimes they just stop firing on their own at about 100m, so back off to this distance and wait. If they stop and you can heal yourself, you'll be okay. If they don't stop, you're SOL.
The turrets have 10k HAM
A single rifleman can take them down as long as someone heals him.
Don't get caught in the crossfire of the two front turrets, take them down from the sides, flank them.
3) Sith Spawn
The sith spawn at the back of the base, then all run around to the front. It's kinda funny looking. But this does give you some time if you're plan is to burstrun in and out. I wouldn't recommend it. Get a group to suppress the sith instead, and make sure you're capturer can withstand 3 or 4 sith attacking at point blank range for a little while.
4) The Commander
I love the commander. Not once did he stop walking, not on the steepest of hills or on any of the trees. 3k and he never stopped once. Distance was no problem (i stayed within 60m) and line of sight was no problem. He never once tried to run away and showed no signs of poison. I walked him back 3k in about 45-50min. I'm SURE he would have died eventually from poison. He does walk extremely slow, but he never stopped. This was such a huge relief compared to Whip's escort missions where you had to constantly tell them to follow. Just FYI, the sith did get extremely close to him several times, but nothing happened.
5) Walking Sith
The sith on the way back are easy. They attacked about 5 times, 2 to a group, same CL as all the other sith post-cu, about 76. I barely had to slow down to kill them. The natural enemies around Dath were a much bigger pain. But i'm sure anyone who's done Whip's quest knows how to avoid that.
6) Miscl.
I've read a few people say to plan you're route and dont go up/down hills. To them i say, HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON DATH! It's nothing but steep hills. Frankly i walked as straight a path as i could while avoiding the red dots, canyon or no canyon. Like i said the commander never stopped no matter what was in front of him.
And finally, i would just like to thank a certain wookie monster player who tried to stick it to me. He tried to run into the base and grab the commander after i dropped the shields. To him i say, thanks for destroying the third turret and the second gate, and thanks for getting all the sith to mob you. It allowed me to run in and get the commander with only 3 or 4 sith on my tail. Hope you rot in he11.

yes, i did this mission with a group today too, just to help out, and it was a free-for-all at the nearest base. Luckily my group got both the escort and shield credit for the mission. We were the first ones there after the last group, and so deserved it.
Also, someone tried to lie to us and say we had to be 300m away from the base to get it to spawn. Maybe they were just uninformed. But personally, i think they were trying to trick us into moving away so they could take it. Beware of people you cant trust, this mission brings out the worst in some players.
Your best defense is to know what you're doing, be prepared, and you're less likely to be taken advantage of. That and hopefully the mods will edit the mission so it can be done from more that just the 3 closest bases. Good luck.
Jcecil,
Let me apologize up front. Yes I drove up to your base. Killed your last turret and about 10 sith. You guys wereoff to the side doing something. I had no intentions of stealing your commander honestly. I have never even tried this before. I ran inside saw the commander and thought wow this is way too easy. The shields were even down already. Clicked on the commander and it said you can not capture him unless you are the one that dropped the shield are in the group. After switching back to spatial I saw you yell about why are you trying to steal my mission. Realized what I had done and walked around the corner with some of the sith and finished them off.
Just want to apologize for that. I was a little ignorant as to how the mission worked. Like I said had I known you guys were trying to get into the base I would never have ran in like that. After reading up on this forum it just seemed like some kind of giant free for all. That's not how I play, just a little excited about the prospect of completing this nightmare of a quest so easy that I didn't bother tostop and think. I am glad I didn't ruin it for you and grats on finishing. Fyi I finished mine soon after.
This is a confusing quest so i can sympathize. What i was doing was waiting for the sith to despawn so i could burst run in and get the commander. I was only in a party of two and standing back far enough not to get hit by the 3rd turret.
I was gonna say after reading half your post that if you ever needed help getting the quest done, i'd be proud to be in your group, but i see that you did finish so congratulations on that.
Sorry i didnt give you the benefit of the doubt, it's getting too easy to become pessimistic in this game and always assume the worst. The fact is the majority of players are great people, thank for reminding me of that.
Oh, and sorry about that burn in he11 thing.
No harm done. Just glad I didnt screw it up for you. See you around in game sometime.
