Thread: Question about the Phase 4, getting credit for the kill. . .

Obviously, we've all seen that you must now outdamage everyone else to get credit for the kill in the new phase 4 stuff. . . my question is this: If I am in a group, and the group as a whole outdamages other non-grouped players, does everyone who registered a hit get credit for the kill, or is it still just the top damage player?

Thanks for any help ya'll can provide. . .

Its pretty much about outdamaging as a group. If you are ungrouped and there are groups running around you will earn nothing and inevitably die out in the hectic chaos. These new changes are horrid. Npcs running all over like mindless retards, too many of them at that. It becomes over whelming to the point where if there is not a ton of players out fighting you have to go in the hut to not be ganked by every freakin thing in the place. Npcs are shooting across gates, which we cannot do, they are warping all over due to lag and their lovely AI that makes then run about. This phase is ridiculous, and once i finally got down to my last pirate it BUGGED. No credit, a message saying complete, but nothing was really finished.

I had no trouble staying alive, and sometimes I outdamaged groups, but its kinda annoying. Pirates are hard to come by, I'm almost done with the outlaws and not a single pirate credit yet. . .

Only group that was there when I did it was already full, so I decided to go Solo. Looks like when I out damaged them they didn't get credit and vice versa. Not sure if you're in a group everyone get's credit for the one hit like it use to be. As for pirates, here's what I did. I got a Adv Laser Rifle, It's L54 Cert, no skill, soI could use it as a TKM/Swordsman. I'd camp outside the south entrance to the village, near where the Sith spawn. I'd wait about 40m away from where they actually spawn in, seems to be out of thier aggro range. When I saw a pirate pass by I'd shoot him a few times then start kiting him away from where the other sith Spawn. Once he was far enough away, I'd switch to Melee and finish him off. Here's aslo a neat trick to get Pirates already in the village. I aslo had my Probot out for this Phase. I'd TAB from outside the village untill I found a pirate, then tell me pet to kill it. Usally the one sith he's sent to kill immedately starts moving towards him and out of the village, even though my droid hadn't attacked him yet. I'll tell my Droid to follow me and it'd usally lure a Sith Pirate right to me. Twice they even ported through the wall to get to us. Hope all this helps.

So given this setup, how many rounds of attacks (they are still on the 2 hour timer, right?) is it taking on average to complete the quest?

When I discussed this matter with a CSR, it sounded like this change was unintended (as was the "crawling" phase 3 commander).

yeah, they need to allow the Phase 4 quest to have unlimited members in the group. Just within the mist around the city. Once you leave the mist, you're dropped from the group. Only way I can see them working this is to have an icon or statue (whatever) in one of the huts and you join with it. Once you leave the mist, your out of the group. While within the mist, everyone that has gone to the icon is in the same group. This 8 person group thing isn't working.

BTW: We know this can be done considering they can make a barrier around the villiage to disallow non glowy people and glowy currently engaged in Combat

Completed the Melee Defense quest with a full group outside the north gate, about 30-40m away from the gate around the spawn point. This is a perfect spot as a full group can handle the spawns easily. Everyone completed the quest within two waves. Only one person died and I believe it was because he was level 35.
