Thread: FS skills count toward combat level?

Seems that they do not... If not, why?

FS Ranged Def 4
FS Melee Def 4
FS Luck 4
FS Ranged Accuaracy
= level 71
On TC3 I got level 80 just by adding llc line and mbh (which my imp is retired former master) and no FS skills at all.
Sure seems that FS skills count for nothing to combat level which just doesn't make sense to me.
P.S. I did search two pages and didn't find a specific post on this topic, sorry if thre is already one.

I'm almost postitive that FS skills don't count toward you're combat level. To get level 80 you'll need to have mastered two elite combat profs. Now I'm really not sure why, it could be based on their low SP cost, but then again, if, for some reason, they did count, it would only be the combat related ones and chances are you are already CL 80 (to get the most efficient amount of FS xp, IMHO).

This system just seems too strict in its specific level requirements. I personally thought the ability to dabble in various professions and still be viable (or at least think you were viable for your own style of play) was one of SWG's greatest achievements. Now, you can have quite the skill combination all complimenting a solid combat role and because you don't fit the mold exactly, you are immediately handicapped by all that comes along with facing higher level enemies.
I guess I get that FS cost less, so they might have slightly less weight, but those skills are also certainly MUCH more difficult to attain than are any normal elite profession.
I'm a bit lost on what to do with this character... Drop medic and fill in the llc line even tho it has absolutely nothing to do with my character's long background? I used llc only while mastering really and am a carbine fan; that's what I want to use till I eventaully unlock and have to switch to melee...errr...wait a sec...
It is time I give up my love of carbines and do the rest of the grind (many months from now, if I stay) as melee, since that will be what I want to go with my padawan someday anyway....??? Hmmm to respec or not now... lizzy is already fairly poorand the thought of getting new weaponsand all...
I rambled, yes, but maybe came up with the best sollution....leaving my beloved carbines...so thanks for bearing with me...
What is the best templet for a new padiwan with new system, with a melee focus? Any thoughts are appreciated.

kinda sucks that they don't due to this fact.
You can not reach CL 80 by having a Weapon Profession and Ranger. I reached CL 72 at max with ranger and I have 13 points in FS... not even the 24 yet.

Will be looking for credit trans from Tempest to Scylla sometime soon...
oh and...level 70 with this template, so didn't help my level problem at all, but did at least make the melee transition I knew I would have to do as I approach unlock.

So I tried to respec to this template, but the stupid interface won't let me complete it with the "elite skill points" I have available...
Right now that character sits at:
MBrawl
MTKA
Swords 4/4/3/1
medic 0/3/4/1 (the crafting skill just cause I had 8 SP left)
6 SP remaining
So, I guess I get to grind the remaining boxes of Swords.

It buggs me too, I would be a CL80 if they counted. Instead I have 2 SP left and only a CL68. So I cannot get above that untill after I unlock Jedi.
