Thread: Would it be worth my effort to pick up something in addition to TKM?

Right now, with only TKM as far as combat skills go, and on average 2-3 hours a day to grind currently, I don't seem to be making overly great progress, in that I rarely cap. I've been thinking about picking up a second combat prof to help out some, but I don't wanna give up TKM. Soo.... mostly thinking either Rifleman or Swordsman, don't think I have enough SP to master them both unless I give up TKM.

So out of these three (TKM, Swordsman, and Rifleman) what's best for FS grinding? And would the time it takes to grind these from Novice Brawler/Marksman not be too much of an offset to how much they'll help? (And any tips on grinding Swords/Rifles would be nice.)

TKM and Rifleman might be good or even swords man. Either way you can get 900k cap on each along with 900k cap on tkm. One thing to keep in mind though you need 1 skill pt per fs box so it might be best to go Swordsman since you already have a brawler box instead of wasting extra skill points on marksman. Put then again myabe that won't matter unless you have medic skills also

Nix on the Rifleman, unless you are certain you have enough skill points to reach Master Rifleman, too weak of a profession until master.

Swordsman goes nicely with TKM tho.

If your real goal is FS xp, pickup master marksman, and the grenade line from commando, FS xp rolls in with all that combat experience from grenades.

Yes... but in all honestly, that's preeeetty boring. Although my main goal is FS EXP, so, no Master Rifleman? (As yes, I do/will have Medic skills.) TKM/Swords? I gotcha.

Go swords , its not that hard a grind really and is very much worthwhile in the long run ( you can bank twice the xp before running to the village ). If what your worried about is wasting time on grinding swordsman , don't ! In the end it will save you a lot of time .

Or you may want to do fencer instead of swordsman because you get melee defense with fencer which is very good to have.

I was a tkm looking to take up something new to make the grind easier. Eventually I mastered swordsman, and yes it did help, but then a week laterI learnedI could double my fs exp per buff session with c12s without grinding anything new. Go figure.

I'm motoring along quickly with TKM and master swords. I toss a few C12s to get the combat xp up a bit for each trip. Keeping yourself to a melee template also gets you used to the idea. Our goal here is a melee class, so I figured having extra time to get used to it would be good.
The caveat to all this of course is to do what's fun for you. If you can enjoy getting those millions of xp you need, then it's not really a grind, right?

A really nice template for the village is:

TKM
Master Brawler
Master Swords
0040 Pike
3010 Medic

I'm currently a TKM, Master swords, a little fencer, and Pharm 4 from medic. I tried both the regular route, and the grenade route. Grenades are faster, and easier. They require less concentration. you just spam your toolbar of grenades for 10mins or so, beat the lair to death, and move on. you also end up spending roughly a crate of grenades on a lair of hurrton stalkers. Those crates cost anywhere from 25-40k on my server. That's an expensive way to go if you as me.

The middle ground is to take missions for hurrton stalkers, or something similar, and just spin the lair to death, decent xp, a little bit of money.

The route I'm taking though....I'm doing my entire FS grind with Janta and Mokk. XP is much slower, only about 25k a lair and you have all the driving. Doing it from an improved job city though also nets me over 30k money a mission. I'll be putting more hours in, but by the time I'm done, I'll have a nice wad of money to buy pearls/crystals.
