If I am not finished with my phase 4 branch when the change occurs, can I start a new phase 1 branch before I finish the phase 4 branch? In other words, can I work on 2 branches at once. In my case I a currently working on phase 4 melee defense...on phase 1 I plan to work on crafting assembly. Can I work on both of these concurrently?

Yes, you can work on as many branches as you want, as long as you already have them unlocked. Just becasue its phase 4, doesnt mean you cant trade in XP on other branches. If its currently phase 4, you can still convert XP to FS XP for a branch that you unlocked in phase 3
