Just got back to the game after a year-long vacation. I quit SWG back when holocrons & mastered professions were the way to go. After mastering the dancer profession (how incredibly gay is that?) and realizing I would never get another holo unless I bought it on eBay (I was a master SM, and did everything solo), I got fed up and said to heck with all of it.

A buddy of mine told me about the FS changes last week, whereupon I smacked myself in the head for giving away my old account; I'd already done most of everything necessary to become FS. But... a good friend offered memy character back when I came back online, so I just got FS last night. Waiting for the old man now.

Yep, a huge grind ahead, but lemme tell ya... I ground a second character to master architect & master weaponsmith JUST to build myself swords, so this should be a cakewalk...

Umm... no you don't. That "free" unlock came courtesy of the old system, way back when. Finding holocrons that said "you need to shake your furry wookie booty for a week and become a master dancer, young padawannabe." I mastered five professions (swordsman, scout, medic, doctor, and dancer - a friend did half of it, after I gave up on SWG last year and gave him the account) and got one "free" branch as a result. 12,750,000 XP and I no longer have to worry about Melee Defense at all - took all of 30 seconds to master last night, but there was a HECK of a lot of furry booty shaking to get that branch.
