No it is not essential. The Old like the first time takes you in order and usually comes within a day or two of when you are able to Quest to become Jedi. This has happened three out of three times for friends of mine.

So for him to come once u fill that 24th box and 6th complete tree, u just wait? and he just happens to come along, like when u first become force sensitive?

i finished my last box sometime last night, played a little longer and logged off. I logged in today around 2pm est on dantooine. Traveled to Coronet for buffs. From there i went to lok to work on getting my TKA back. Got to Nyms Stronghold and ported to a city on lok, Ziost. Got off the shuttle to look for a trainer and poof, the old man was like there waiting for me. Wasnt even 24hrs for me till he visited. I wasnt expecting him for a day or so. Im on the Starsider Server if that helps any. I really didnt do anything special to try and get him to come, like i said i wasnt expecting such and early visit. Heck im not even prepared to take out Melliache....

how long does it take for the old man to come and visit you the second time after you get all the boxes?

Patience..hehe..Seriously just go out and have fun.Normally though 1-3 days .

thanks for the info... its kinda hard to have fun however when all i can think about is the visit and when it will finally happen

He came to me in like 2 days. Then it took 2 days to get the CSRs to help me out cause one of the crystals was inside a house. It was still hard to solo but really fun doing it.ButI suggest you bring friends.

I finished at the village just before midnight last week. The next morning I got buffed and went out to the Tusken Fort and got myself some crystals. About 2/3 through the buffs session, my inventory was full so I went back to Corellia to sell the stuff I didn't want and the "Old Man" was waiting for me at the shuttle port in my player city. Not even one full day.
My advice...go kill some tuskans. Do something that you haven't done in a while 'cause you were too busy grinding. He'll chase ya down in no time!

Just depends bro, I lucked out and was padawan 20 hours after i turned in my last fill of xp at the village. The old man came about 9 hours after my 24'th box. Just stay out of the NPC cities and it shouldnt be long at all. I also logged out a few times long enough for my player to despawn. Not proven to work , but a few players has been saying that it helps.
