Really? Explain how. They arent possible, it might be possible to create something similar, but it wouldnt be how a lightsaber is portrayed to work.
You cant emit an electrical beam and have it just stop unless something is there to stop it.

that is the trick it is all about fields and wave forms... think of it this way the energy (most likely some kind of excited plasma, this would lend the color) that does the cutting, is very thin and is bottled in a RF field of some kind (simular to magnetic containment in a lot of ways, but more controlable, this also would be the "glowie part" if any) the problem with this is we can not produce the amount of energy this would require for more than a second.

thank you I almost lost it when that guy said it wasnt possible to make a lightsaber. All a lightsaber is, is a focused laser which has alread been done just not hand held size. oh well some day i will get a lightsaber.
