There seems to be a lot of questions regarding this method, so here it is.

This mission sucks.
I've attempted it about 3 times, 2 of the times we've gotten the Commander out but not much later (3-4 minutes) he dies from the poison he takes. I feel robbed, we start the trek back to the village with the commander following when he dies.

We had 2 rifleman and a swordsman. We took down the turrets(including the one inside(from an elevated position it can be done)) then stood directly in front of the base to take down the shields. Once the shields were down we quickly destroyed the front gate and ran to the rear of the base and destroyed the gate to the tent, and regrouped before the Sith spawned. Soon there were many Sith outside but none inside. We pulled in one or two Sith at a time and the Swordsman tanked while the rifleman used headshot til they went down, repeating until the Commander spawned.
When the commander spawned we waited until most of the Sith despawned then we captured the Commander, we used burstrun to the front gate and left going around the side to the rear of the base and onto the village. From what we found this mission is run in two buff sets. The first to get the disks to trade in for the remotes and to find the base you want. Then the second buff set to take the Commander and walk back to the village.
It wasn't too difficult doing it the way we did, no cheating, and it was allot of fun. My favorite village quest by far.
