I'm sorry, I almost feel the same way, but I'm not leaving yet, if they screw up something big again, I might consider it, MxO would be better than this, and it kinda got pretty boring if you didn't like to RP... but I do
Isn't MxO in the process of merging servers from 9 to 3? dont think that is the choice of games to go to if it is...
Everyday I feel less and less of an urge to play this game.. only thing holding me to it at this point is the friends I have made and enjoy playing with.
I really think they should have just made SWG2 instead of the CU.. but thats my opinion.. seems more and more lately this game is going downhill, without a sign of leveling out
Boy you can really tell the Kids who have no lives and spend 5+ hours per day in SW:G from the adults and casual players in this thread.
All you guys wanting to know why the original poster can't just "blow through it" need to remember that not everyone is capable of leading your lives. (you know, the ones where you don't work, or if you do, it's 10-20 hours a week?) You have to remember that some of these players have children of their own that they are trying to provide for and take care of.
This is really a blow to the casual and adult player. Anytime anything is made more of a grind you should be sympathetic enough to realize that however bad it effects you (the person who players 25+ hours a week.) it effects a casual gamer approximately 10 times worse.
The real issue is that the developers, under Lucas Arts guidence, have decided to do what a lot of other MMORPG's do. A thing that the OLD developer team promised would "not" happen. And that's to cater to the Hardcore player, at least in the case of the Jedi.
Now for you casual gamers out there, you really need to understand that the current crop of Jedi that are on the servers right now have made a pretty big mess of things. If you want to blame the developers for anything, then you should be blaming them for not FORCING game mechanics to make Jedi BEHAVE like Jedi.
The developers have proven themselves very short-sighted time and time again with Jedi. Now they say "there's too many Jedi, we're trying to make them go away." Well, it's a TAD late for that isn't it? Instead why aren't they working on laying the smackdown on the Jedi who are seen WAY too much. These guys need more stringent visibility rules when it pertains to places like NPC cities. or opposite faction Player Cities, etc.
There's lots of Jedi out there that you DON'T see, because they play their roles as they should, it's the boneheaded ones who think they have a right to show off, they earned it, they deserve the I-win button, blah blah blah, whine, and moan and cry. These are the ones, the minority really, who have caused Jedi to be nerfed into the ground, have caused the addition of the added grind.
And who now threaten to cause a group-xp split if lengthening the grind for F.S. doesn't work (and it won't.)
What I just don't really understand is how they ever thought this would NOT happen. I truly do not get how they figured that everyone who became a Jedi would police themselves and act the part of Jedi without game mechanics forcing that behavior on them. Only someone with their head in the sand would think that the hardcore grinders would play the part because in truth all they are interested is being a little bit "better" than the other classes and professions out there.
I would like to hear from a dev why this change went in.
I know the players all say that it is too easy to get jedi, or people throwing grenades, there are too many jedi, etc. But I would like one of the devs to say we did it because of X.
To the OP, you say you are 2 boxes from unlocking? Well to that I say I wish I was you. I waited to go glowing and because of that I now am gated further. Every trip to the village to convert and I get more frustrated because of my wanting to wait before going jedi.
I have 2 branches and 50k of xp left to go. I'm going to tough it out because I really want a jedi. I know that it will now double the amount of trips that I thought I had, but someday I will get there. I know that the jedi grind isn't easy, it is like any other profession and since I started the first few days as a pistoleer, and it took me about 8 months to get master. but Jedi is what I want to be and I'm not giving up.
So we can complain all we want, but Tiggs and co. will sit in their ivory tower with their finger above the almighty nerf button.
As soon as the cheque clears for your account, thats when all customer support STOPS. Quite simply as long as you pay them THEY DONT CARE.
Its a company. We are cash cows.
Nothing we say will make a difference. SOE prove this.
You can try test center, but thats only for the hardcore gamers which most of us are not.
For instance, do you see a developer response or inquiry page?
no.
The forums are here for us to shut up and not impede the Sony teams obsession to ruin star wars

Point one: Its still easy to grind FS, and you that need only 2 boxes. Grind at the village in ph4, no need to drive, just kill and bank xp!
Point two: If you cant stand the FS grind, you will die of the jedi grind! And if jedi is the hole game 4 you I feel really sorry 4 you! Alot more cool profs in the game!
Point three: I did get glowy whit my alt when she whas lvl17, this is not a solo game, you can get help from others! If you want to play solo play KOTOR!

Been playing casualyon and off since the game launched, Im 2 boxes away from jedi. Its taken me 2 freaking years and they decide to pull this 30:1 conversion bullhsitt! SOE, what the F*ck??
OMFG: It's not the end of the world bud, my wife is working on FS and only has 5 boxes to fill still, and she maxed on Polearm and Unarmed and Combat and the net FS xp for her trip to the village was around 90,000. You'll just need to get some real skills and won't be able to just chuck nades anymore.
Ive never Nade grinded in my life.

if you were playing for 2 years you should be a jedi knight like the rest of the vetrans, i myself have been playing for 48 days and have only 9 weeks of waiting to do. i finished my fs xp at the normal 30:1 weapons xp and 3:1 combat xp. now granted it took me about 2 weeks to get it all, but since ive been done with the grind im just waiting on the time. you obviously either dont know how to grind or only play for 30 minutes a day. well the more people that leave, the more room for me. some of these servers are too packed anyway. well good luck playing another game.
