I would assume that the cap for jedi XP at initiate would be 30k though (1.5x20k novice box). The cap with a novice box is 300k (1.5 times the next level skill; 1.5x200k).

Using force powers / lighting up lightsabers / equipping lightsabers / equipping padawan robes / tuning crystals all give visibility from every player or NPC within 32m. Gain too much visibility and you are on the terms.
Doing that stuff with 20 opposing-faction players within 32m will get you on terms faster than you can say "I hope im not on the terms now", doing it with just 1 same-faction player nearby will more than likely not bring you on the terms. Doing it repeatedly will get you on the terms, though.

well none of that really answered his question..
Post CU- No. Initiates can not get in the terms. Reason being, they have no force pool. You are able to craft your saber during the Padawan Trials, however you can not even turn it on. (even equip it?) Because you have no force pool.
Pre-CU some initiates, albeit rare, ended up on the terms.. I believe this is why the current system is in place. (would make more sense if they made the very last trial crafting your saber, keep the rest random if they want...)

You should not be on the terms until padawan. I know of a person to get killed as an initate and received his xp loss back.

How many FS boxes to you have to open to just be a Jedi Inititate?
and do you get your alt when you become Initate or do you have to be Padawan?

All 6 branches and kill Mel. You don't get your second character till after you complete the padawan trials.
